Advances in AI coding / ability to produce software has exposed the chasm between the hardware world and the software world. It is time to invest into making matter programable. My company Chemify & my research team University of Glasgow using chemputation is leading the charge.

People forget Tesla is just as much a hardcore software company as it is a hardcore hardware company. You feel it the second you use the Cybercab. The software is buttery smooth. Everything responds instantly. And bc the Cybercab has cameras surrounding the car, it can constantly see what’s happening around it. The software takes all of that camera data and turns it into a real-time understanding of the world around the car like vehicles, people, roads, obstacles. You can literally watch that digital world being built around it on the screen as you ride. Hardware + software + AI, all built to work together. That vertical integration is Tesla’s superpower. That’s the part people miss.

At the University of Strathclyde, students and researchers are using AMD Zynq RFSoC and FPGA technology to design flexible, software-defined radio systems. Through the AMD University Program, access to hardware, software, and support is helping make advanced signal processing more accessible and preparing students for real-world industry applications in wireless and beyond. From classrooms to industry, the impact is already visible, with graduates developing careers built on their AMD-based learning.

Marc Andreessen's new interview, on the future of AI. "There's like a rotation from software into hardware. It's possible all the value accrues to the chips, and the energy, and then software is all open source."

$NVDA CEO Jensen Huang: This is actually an incredible time to be a software company. But the software has to be presented to the agent in a way that the agent can use it.

“AI is changing the value prop of software.” We spoke with Metronome CEO Scott Woody about why AI requires a new business model. “In the cloud era…the value of the software scales as your org scales.” “In AI, the software is now doing work on your behalf…so the core value of the software is not who in my org has access to the data, it's what can this software do for me? When the value shifts from access to output, the business model has to follow.

Jensen Huang just said this is the greatest era in history to build software. AI agents will not kill software. They will do the exact opposite: create a massive new wave of software demand. at NVIDIA GTC Taipei 2026 "Click and type. We now replace that with explaining to the AI what we want, our intent, and the AI generates the code or uses tools to produce the necessary output. This is how computers are going to work in the future. This is Agentic AI. For two years, we've been building toward this, and now it has arrived. One of the big breakthroughs, of course, is tool use. A lot of people have said, “Jensen, AI is coming. Agentic AI is coming. Therefore, all the software companies are going to go out of business.” This is exactly the opposite. Because there are going to be so many agents, the world is no longer limited by the number of people. Therefore, those agents are going to use more tools than ever. This is actually an incredible time to be a software company. But the software has to be presented to the agent in a way that the agent can use it. This is a big breakthrough. And in fact, what we have done, as you know, what Nvidia’s treasure..." ---- From 'NVIDIA' YT channel (link in comment)

Anthropic has created an AI model that “can get into almost any software in the world,” former AI company founder and CEO Matt Shumer says — but the company is not releasing it to the public: “I have never seen something like this — a company that is about to IPO and having such a moral compass.” Shumer shares what makes the AI model so powerful and potentially dangerous.

#WATCH | Mumbai, Maharashtra: On the Jevons paradox and software demand expansion, Neelkanth Mishra, Executive Director Designate of the World Bank, says, “…If you think about what the major cost of a software firm is, it is people. So, if the writing of software is getting automated, those firms will be the first to make adjustments. But on the whole, it seems that the Jevons paradox—which dictates that as the cost of writing software falls, the amount of software written goes up—is actually playing out. If an XYZ company, which is a product company, was spending, say, $100 million on writing software and can now do it for $70 million, they might need to lay off some people; that is their business priority. But if the amount of software written goes up three to four times, the number of software engineers in the ecosystem will not change… This panic and paranoia about massive job losses is something that I think is, at this stage, unfounded.”

ATOMS is effectively making the opposite bet to Sequoia. Sequoia’s thesis is that AI companies will move beyond selling software seats and start selling completed work, capturing the much larger services and labor budget. In that model, AI becomes the worker: the company produces the legal analysis, customer-support resolution, accounting work, or marketing output. Kalanick believes the bigger opportunity is not replacing knowledge workers through AI services. It is using AI, robotics, sensors, manufacturing, real estate, and transportation to digitize entire physical industries. ATOMS wants to build what he calls “atoms-based computers,” where manufacturing is the CPU, real estate is storage, and transportation is the network. That difference matters because an AI services company can be commoditized when foundation models learn to perform its task directly. ATOMS intends to own the physical infrastructure, deployments, operational data, supply chains, and regulatory relationships required to produce and move real things. Better AI should therefore make ATOMS more efficient rather than eliminate the company. So Kalanick is trying to prove that the next enormous AI companies will not simply sell work instead of software. They will use software to control the physical economy. Sequoia says services are the new software. Kalanick is betting that the physical world is.

Jensen Huang gave Tesla one of the strongest endorsements possible: “I think that the Tesla stack is the most advanced AV stack in the world” “And I think that the Tesla AV operations is the most advanced in the world” “I’m fairly certain that they were already using end-to-end AI. And whether their AI also did reasoning or not is somewhat secondary to that first part” Tesla has a complete end-to-end AI stack powered by real-world data, massive training infrastructure, vertically integrated hardware and software, and continuous deployment across its fleet
