Cybersecurity experts at Allied Security Operations, based it Dallas, Texas, stated that they can prove that one of the nation's largest providers of election software, a system used in 28 states, not only uses servers in Germany, but is also possibly infected with malware embedded in the software of the source code. Even the nation's cybersecurity agency, CISA, warns that this type of malware would allow hackers to find everything they would need to change votes in election databases across the country. This is possible due to the long data transfers that can be intercepted along the way or manipulated or altered in the cloud.

This guy just built a driver’s drowsiness detection software using Python. The software detects when a driver is sleepy or distracted and immediately triggers an alarm to wake them up. He also integrated a voice system that speaks to the driver as an additional alert. The system allows the driver’s company to monitor the driver’s activity, and a report is sent to the company whenever the driver appears sleepy or distracted.

Chamath broke down the $5T software market on TWiST: $4T of it goes to maintenance and services, not the software itself. A financial services client was paying $2M a year to an outside vendor for a process that kept falling behind. We rebuilt it as software with Software Factory and an 8090 engineer accountable for it and maintaining it, and the cost dropped by about $1.5M a year.
