Again, what the heck is Adobe doing? Btw the clarifications Adobe issued are still lacking. The implications this has for people working on NDA’s or their own work is huge. Bottom line is NO company should EVER give themselves access to abuse customer’s data & work this way.

Also a reminder that to this DAY Adobe has had 0 to say about what exactly “Openly Licensed Work” (used to train Firefly) means, a term so vast it could mean anything. Also a term they quietly took out of their FAQ and talking points when discussing Adobe Firefly’s training.

Anyway I’m gonna have to get serious about finding ways to lessen my dependence on Photoshop. The company has long lost my trust, but it is now flirting with putting me and my clients at risk with their foolish rush to meet the Genai hype bubble. Idk but i gotta find the time😭

Ps. Adobe is just still missing too much information. Like what was Firefly actually trained on ( a question that can be easily answered if they released their dataset), and in what ways and how do their machine learning/manual ways is Adobe accessing customers work? Do they-

Way around it, this day and age you have to be radically transparent on how you use data, if you want to keep your customer’s trust. Especially more difficult when your company is engaged in GenAi, a tech that generally relies on unethical practices to even function. Sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Adobe Yup. Their update still leaves SO much room for Companies need to understand that promises are cheap. Show me you mean business: 1. Release dataset contents so we KNOW what training was used 2. Make it impossible in your own legal documents to screw people over Then we can talk
