All the Tariffs on this board are made up. For instance the UK doesn't charge the USA a thing, but has a flat 20% VAT on everything. The same with most of the EU with few tariffs on the USA, but various VAT rates, none of them anywhere near 39%.

To anyone claiming the UK doesn’t charge tariffs on US goods—wrong. The table below proves we do, and that’s before VAT. I don’t always agree with Trump, but if a leader puts their country first and delivers on campaign promises (unlike Labour), who can argue? He’s just responding in kind—or even charging less. If only our PM, Starmer, actually stood up and delivered on his campaign promises instead of lying and trying to squeeze the poorest and most vulnerable.

Here’s what could get more expensive with Trump’s new tariffs.

VAT is government revenue. Exactly the same as a tariff. The UK charge the US 10% instead of 20% per their trade deal. To say the UK charge the US nothing is wrong!

It helps if you read the fine print.

False. Stop lying and spreading misinformation 🤡 The UK charges tariffs on US imports. There is no free trade agreement between the UK and the US, the UK applies its standard tariff rates, known as the UK Global Tariff (UKGT), to goods imported from the US. These tariffs vary depending on the type of product. For example, the UK imposes a 10% tariff on cars imported from the US, while other goods like steel can face tariffs up to 25%, and agricultural products such as beef or poultry may have tariffs ranging from 10% to 15% or higher, depending on specific classifications. Additionally, a Value Added Tax (VAT) of 20% is typically applied to most imported goods at the border, on top of any applicable tariffs.

Then you didn’t listen to his speech, retard. He said those percentages were calculated based on tariffs, VAT taxes, *and* trade restrictions. Nice try. Fuck off, EU…

Our Vat is a tax on American imports you dunce

I believe you are partly wrong. UK charges USA tariffs (e.g., 10% on cars, 40% on beef) & VAT isn’t 20% on everything—food, books are 0%. EU also has tariffs on USA, like 20%+ on dairy. VAT rates max at 27% (Hungary), which you got right, but tariffs aren’t "few." Check UKGT & EU CET for facts.

You should listen to his speech. He goes over the numbers and talks about including VAT and other fees aggregated together to give an approximate tariff that is on the board.

VAT is a three dollar name for a tariff. Get realistic with your rhetoric. It is common knowledge that anywhere from 156-195 nations have tariffs on US products of varying degrees. Those are facts.

Trump’s tariffs protect American workers from unfair trade! The UK’s 20% VAT and EU’s high rates—like Hungary’s 27%—hurt US exports. Reciprocal tariffs level the playing field, ensuring our industries thrive.
