Orion has slowed from 130 mph to a gentle 17-20 mph. This is the safe terminal velocity for a water impact

Red-and-white striped beauties doing exactly what they were designed for. This parachute sequence is deceptively complex (drogues, pilots, then these giants reefing in stages). Smooth deployment = smooth splashdown off San Diego. Go NASA!
