Almost two years ago, Mark suffered from a stroke, which left him unable to use his left arm or walk. With the help of physiotherapist Zoe and the team at University Hospitals Sussex, Mark regained his independence, returned to work and can now walk unaided.

@UHSussex I’m 43. Because of the fluctuating nature of my illnesses I couldn’t guarantee being well enough on the same day every week for a course of physio so I’m not allowed it. Hydrotherapy helped but only allowed 4 sessions. Mark was lucky.

@UHSussex Great to see someone getting assistance. Took me EIGHT MONTHS of utterly awful experience before my diagnosis of haemorrhagic transformation stroke because disgusting incompetence meant 3 consultants & vile utterly disgraceful Reg ignored my numerous scans & I was asked CONT 1

@UHSussex Whereas when my Mum had a stroke she was discharged from hospital very quickly and offered a few physio sessions then they just abandoned her. She is fully disabled now and needs carers (Worthing Hospital)
