Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods said that in considering a potential return to Venezuela, the company applies its long-term lens, with investments that must be “decades-deep” and deliver a “win-win-win” for Exxon, the government, and the population. But citing Exxon’s history in Venezuela where its assets were seized twice, and the country’s current legal and commercial framework, Woods said Exxon cannot determine that its presence would be a “win” for the company and its shareholders.
