There is your fatherlessness to criminal to prison pipeline. But how did this happen? When someone says that SNAP participants “don’t work hard enough,” I know they haven’t talked to a mom like Nikki--a single mother who works multiple jobs to put food on the table. In fact, 70% of households participating in SNAP include people with full time jobs. Other homes include non-working age or disabled participants. It’s not a matter of willpower. The reality is families are struggling to make ends meet and SNAP benefits are the difference between having just enough to get by or going hungry. President Trump must follow the court's direction and release SNAP funds now.

When someone says that SNAP participants “don’t work hard enough,” I know they haven’t talked to a mom like Nikki--a single mother who works multiple jobs to put food on the table. In fact, 70% of households participating in SNAP include people with full time jobs. Other homes include non-working age or disabled participants. It’s not a matter of willpower. The reality is families are struggling to make ends meet and SNAP benefits are the difference between having just enough to get by or going hungry. President Trump must follow the court's direction and release SNAP funds now.
