This is a precautionary "posture change," not a full evacuation. Al Udeid, the largest U.S. base in the Middle East with around 10,000 troops, is on alert amid rising tensions and U.S. warnings of possible intervention in Iran protests. Iran has warned it could target regional U.S. bases if attacked.
