There are few factories along the Bank of Pavna river which directly pour toxic waste in river. Pavna river joins Mula river and Mula joins Mutha river to be called Mula-Mutha river. So the problem lies forever.

Pune politicians are busy in feeling their bags, no implementation on sewage treatment. Mula Mutha are not not a river now it has became a huge nullah. Even some people don’t have civic sense, they throw garbage and waste anywhere.

💔 A deeply heartbreaking scene from the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary… In the Mugguru range near Kanakapura, a 40-year-old mother elephant died after drinking heavily polluted water from the Arkavati River. Her grieving calf was seen standing beside the body, placing its trunk on her and mourning inconsolably for hours. Post-mortem report: Approximately 35 litres of contaminated water mixed with toxic substances were found in the elephant’s stomach. The Arkavati River, a key tributary of the Cauvery, has faced severe pollution in recent years. According to Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) data under the National Water Monitoring Programme, microbial pollution (coliform bacteria) in stretches near Kanakapura has reached nearly 350 times the safe limit. Primary causes include: • Untreated industrial effluents discharged from factories and industrial areas. • Untreated domestic sewage from rapid urbanization on Bengaluru’s outskirts. • Agricultural runoff containing pesticides and fertilizers. • Loss of natural wetlands and buffers due to development and quarrying. This forest and river ecosystem is the natural home of wild animals elephants, tigers, birds, and many other species that have lived here for generations. Media personalities Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah and Kwame Appiah Kubi stormed Asankragua in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region and arrested three Chinese nationals involved in galamsey activities along one of Ghana's biggest rivers, River Tano. Okatakyie expressed concern about the extent of the damage caused by their illegal activities to the quality of River Tano. He added that, despite being the rainy season, the river has not shown the increase in volume it used to. They eventually handed over the three Chinese nationals to the Asankragua Police Division for further investigation and prosecution.
