What a cynical thought. To think that the papers and the government have been sitting on a potential crime and not reporting it to the police (is it a crime to not report a crime?). To release it when it can deflect attention from a political scandal. You are probably right!

Former chancellor George Osborne has called in police to investigate alleged online harassment after a so called email was sent to guests of his wedding. It's part of a "long-term campaign" of abuse in which an individual has "made up rumours" and engaged in "cyber bullying".

Before lighting candles for the 7th night of #Hanukkah, Rabbi Hirschy Zarchi of Harvard Chabad shared a story about how he has to hide the menorah on campus each night out of fear from the university of criminal activity. “We in the Jewish community are longing for a day…that Harvard University not only has our back, and not only allows us to finally put up a menorah, but doesn’t force us to hide it at night.”

From the George Floyd sermon: Josh Howerton recounts a story of his Black friend telling him that his father had a talk with him about how to walk into a store and not raise suspicion. Howerton views the story as heartbreaking but implies that racism is to blame rather than the Black criminality that led to the stereotype that his friend endured. His friend's father did the right thing by having the talk. But Howerton is so woke he has the wrong takeaway from the story. In an age of “teen takeovers” and “changing consumer habits,” it’s hard to come away thinking Howerton’s friend was victimized by shopkeepers and not other Black people.

A passenger captured the moment an avalanche roared down a mountainside and slammed into a train near Zermatt, Switzerland, on Feb. 17. In video filmed by Kirsten Osborne, an Australian living in the United Kingdom, a child can be heard saying, “Uh-oh!” as snow engulfed the train. Osborne said passengers were stranded for about two hours before being evacuated by bus. Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, the rail company that operates the route, said no one was injured but suspended service for the rest of the day because of elevated avalanche risk.
