An even better example on how GenAI (in this example Runway) will improve / create realistic graphics in the near future (obviously with hier frame rate and more stability. But gives good impression). And remember: that’s something Jensen Huang stated many times as well.

What interests me about this is all the old games that could be made photo realistic. We have thousands of games that could look insanely good. GTA San Andreas springs to mind

But this is just post-processing on top of the difficult part, the game engine. Gaussian splats may get AI generated games a bit further but maintaining a memory of the gen content will be so much less efficient it won’t make sense.

Wow. I can't wait to replay Half Life 2 with this when it finally comes to fruition. Not looking forward to the RTX 9090 with 320GB of VRAM needed to run it though!

is it real time?

I think the AI Doom project got too much hype. Imo in the future videogames might still have the traditional engine in which mechanics, physics, etc. are coded, and then graphics will be rendered in real time through an AI model, just like this.

I can imagine a middle ground, rendering with extra channels for a more streamlined neural postprocess using RGB/Z/ID/..->rgb As for nvidias comments though they are biased. Also if really on a path to AGI, AI should get better at generating traditional assets aswell?

old better

Indeed, 'tis remarkable how swiftly the faculties of GenAI evolve. As Mr. Huang hath oft prophesied, we now behold a dawning era where these artifices render not just mere likeness, but a most vivid reality. Such progress doth delight and thrill me!

Amazing!
