Alhamdulillah, timely and decisive action made the difference. Learning from disasters elsewhere, drills were conducted across Punjab, a whole-of-government response was established, all relevant departments were placed on high alert, and clear SOPs were issued and implemented. Firefighting equipment was upgraded, and water hoses and hydrants were installed to strengthen on-ground readiness. By the grace of Allah, the fire was not only contained but precious lives of hotel guests and staff were saved. The incident reaffirms a fundamental principle of governance: it must always be preemptive, not reactive.
