Alhamdulillah, timely and decisive action made the difference. Learning from disasters elsewhere, drills were conducted across Punjab, a whole-of-government response was established, all relevant departments were placed on high alert, and clear SOPs were issued and implemented. Firefighting equipment was upgraded, and water hoses and hydrants were installed to strengthen on-ground readiness. By the grace of Allah, the fire was not only contained but precious lives of hotel guests and staff were saved. The incident reaffirms a fundamental principle of governance: it must always be preemptive, not reactive.

#WATCH | Sivasagar, Assam: As floodwaters abruptly entered in Nepali Khuti area, a group of local villagers launched a timely rescue operation and saved many lives across multiple villages. On of villagers who was engaged in rescue operation, Sohan Chaudhary said, "...We were at home. The water rose with such speed that we left our own home to go and rescue others. Our own people were standing in deep water. We took boats out to save others. We hadn't even realized how much water had entered our own homes... We saved more than 1000 people from around 4-5 villages." (02.08)
