Android vs. iOS app quality difference [Part 8] This one is about two highly-requested media apps: Spotify and Netflix. Netflix is miles better on iOS, but Spotify is about the same in my opinion because each version has one extra feature that's absent on the other. Netflix: - Netflix on iOS has a very modern design. Cool animations while logging in, and 3D parallax effect on the main title shown on the homepage. Nothing like this on the Android version. - You can use gestures to navigate the titles as shown in the video, and it's coupled with cool animations. Absent on the Android app. Spotify: - On the iOS app, you can use swipe up/down gestures to navigate between the mini-player and main music player UI. Can't do that on Android. - However, on the Android app, you can like a song directly from the notification panel - which is very useful. You can add a song you like to your Liked playlist directly without having to open the app. I believe this is on Apple alone, since they don't allow adding shortcuts like that to media player. Which app would you like me to do next? Let me know below!

This app uses AirDrop to send files from your Android phone to your Macbook! Yes, it actually uses AirDrop. That means you don't have to install ANYTHING on your Mac to send files from your Android phone! Here's a video of a Galaxy Z Flip 5 AirDropping a file to a Macbook running macOS Ventura 13.5.1. (Thanks to u/FragmentedChicken for testing this app for me and sharing the video!) A few months ago, Twitter user @Linus13499209 brought an app called WarpShare to my attention. WarpShare is an app made by the developers of MoKee, an AOSP-based custom ROM that was popular in China. Since MoKee wasn't as popular outside of China, it seems the existence of their WarpShare app slipped under the radar. I was skeptical about whether it would work at all. Grishka, the developer of NearDrop, an open source port of Google's Nearby Share to macOS, told me that they were under the assumption that AirDrop requires the use of AWDL (Apple Wireless Direct Link, Apple's proprietary WiFi-based protocol) to communicate both ways. However, it seems that AWDL is only required for your Android phone to be discoverable by your Mac (ie. to send files from your Mac to your Android phone) but not the other way around. Because of this, though, WarpShare only supports sending files from Android to Mac but not vice versa. Your Mac also needs to have AirDrop discoverability set to "everyone" for this to work, as "contacts-only" requires Apple-signed certificates. Plus, it also doesn't support sending files from Android to iPhones or iPads, even when "everyone" mode is enabled. Still, if you find other Android --> Mac file sharing options to be lackluster, give WarpShare a try! The fact that it works at all is incredible, which is why I'm sharing this news here. If you want to download WarpShare on your Android device, you'll need to compile the app from its source code. If you're a Patron/X subscriber, however, I will share my compiled APK with you. I find it offensive that doing the same thing on iOS is much faster and easier than Android. On WhatsApp, you can swipe left on a message to check delivered/read status. Very useful in group chats. Can’t do it on Android.

This is the fastest way I’ve found to send huge files without compression across the world. It’s called Blip. A file transfer app that lets you send massive files directly from your device to someone else’s. No cloud upload first. No waiting for a download link. No file size panic. No video quality getting destroyed. No “upgrade your storage” nonsense. Just pick the file and send it. What it can do: • Send files of any size • Send entire folders • Resume interrupted transfers • Keep original quality • Work across long distances • Transfer between desktop and mobile • Use end-to-end encrypted transfers • Run on Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad, and Android The wild part: Blip says it can handle files up to 99TB. Because it is not trying to be Dropbox. It does not make you upload the file to a cloud drive first, then force the other person to download it later. The receiver starts getting the file while you are still sending it. WeTransfer makes you upload. AirDrop only works nearby. Cloud drives turn sharing into storage management. I updated the website! Take a look at all the categories and art that @DollyJKazoo designed! It was so cool being able to make art for all of the products we have. The collections have grown so much over the years that we just needed to do a makeover so we can fit all of our items on the home page and make it look more pretty~ Also a sneak peek of our mascot Baby Finn the Giraffe making a comeback! Lastly, I realized after I recorded this, so the tabs at the bottom will only be available on the website if you want to have an easier log-in experience. Which the app is available on Apple and Android. Just search “Lil Comforts” on your appstore!
