In my county, we’re seeing a 30% increase in search and rescue calls—the vast majority involving people from outside the county. Our search and rescue teams are being forced to do more with less. NEW: San Diego County Sheriff's Office issues a blistering statement on the county board's decision to make it a "Super Sanctuary county." "The Sheriff's office will not changes its practices based on the Board resolution and policy that was passed at today's meeting," the statement reads. "The Board of Supervisors does not set policy for the Sheriff's Office." The Board Supervisor Supervisor Jim Desmond blasted the designation.
