Thought experiment for people regarding the concept of Absolute Time. Absolute means NO EXCEPTIONS. We are NOT looking back in time when we see galaxies and stars. If the matchstick burnt out before the packet of orange light from that particular chemical reaction made it to Earth… then the distant observer would just see a disembodied orange flash of light with a lag. But the Earth-bound observer would never actually see the flame associated with the orange wavelength it put out. The wavelength of color emitted by the flame is not a recording of reality. If the orange light is 650 Thz, that means there are 650 trillion individual and separate bursts of orange light pulsating in 1 second. NOT that "the same light" is "waving" 650 trillion times a second and that light is a recording of reality. There are 650 trillion brand-new lights flashing in 1 second. You're still looking at the people in real-time, but now there is a lag of the colors shifting by 3 minutes because it takes light 3 minutes to travel from Earth to Mars. fr you are a third hypothetical observer zoomed out and watching the person from Mars AND seeing the club on Earth... you're still seeing everything happening in real-time as well. But you see the colored wavepackets traveling with a delay to the observer on Mars. And the disco color wheel effect is just lagging before it affects the observer from Mars and the observer on the Moon. It doesn't matter how far you zoom out! There is only now to observe. But there WILL be a lag and delay for a given color/wavepacket to reach distant observers. But all points in space are already illuminated by other starlight. So if you're too far away... you'll just see the club in real-time but without any disco lights. Just see them in white light because that's the source already illuminating the scene. This is where it gets the most difficult because people think light itself is a recording of reality that replays a scene from where it came from. But another punch in the gut of relativity is that in order to see REFLECTED light... that would require a TWO-WAY transit. So, when I took this aurora, at first I thought that my settings were not correct because the aurora appeared white. I thought maybe the ISO was off, or I picked the wrong lens. Turns out, what I thought was white is actually light pink, and this led me down a path of learning. Aurora colors are the result of solar particles (think: microscopic sun bullets) interacting with Earth’s magnetospheric electrons (think: a bunch of charged particles which act like a force field around Earth that protect us from direct hits from the sun bullets). When there is a strong solar storm, which is basically a grouping of solar particles headed in our direction, the magnetospheric electrons get bombarded. While they still do their job of protecting us, they get super energized and are accelerated toward our poles. These now high-velocity electrons then hit different gases in the Earth’s atmosphere, mainly oxygen and nitrogen. When this happens, the gas molecules get excited, jump to a different energy level, and emit light at different wavelengths when they return to their original state. The color of that wavelength depends on the collision impact, type of gas molecule, atmospheric density, and altitude. Green is the most common aurora color, and it occurs when the electrons hit oxygen molecules between 60-150 miles altitude. If the solar particles hit oxygen but at a higher altitude, above 150 miles, the resultant color is red. This only happens under intense solar storm activity because of the lower density of atomic oxygen at higher altitudes. At lower altitudes during these intense storms, below 60 miles, auroras can appear purple or blue due to electrons hitting nitrogen molecules or pink when they hit slightly higher nitrogen around 60 miles. Auroras can appear other colors due to mixing of these phenomena. Now when I watch this video, I am amazed by the color variations. This one was very pink-hued!

It is done! Grok has literally built something that no one else has but anyone studying space weather would want! I will be releasing it today to the world on my website for free , and as open source for anyone to tweak, add or change things as they see fit! First we managed to resurrect the old Japanese NICT magnetosphere monitoring page, getting all the original data... then, added in the SOLAR-1 Data, and the data from the BOM Australia on the Magnetopause (shell around earth that bounces around). The magnetic field lines of the magnetoSPHERE coming from the ACE and Solar-1 data, and the bouncing shell of the magnetopause from the BOM, then we added in the Schumann resonance, to give each magnetic field line from the ACE and Solar-1 data an oscillating glow that lights up according to the current Hz of the Schumann. There is an option to turn on charged particles, which will then reflect off of , or be pulled in towards (or stay neutral) to the magnetic field of both the ACE + Solar-1 field LINES and the outer shell magnetopause from the BOM!!!! This is huge! When Bz goes green one way the particles turn RED and are reflected off of Earths magnetic field like a force field.. and when Bz goes Red, the particles turn GREEN and are accepted in to Earths fields! When neutral positive you see light blue and when neutral negative the particles are grey. Simply put, you can now look at this and know just by the particle color and their direction whether Earth was accepting or denying particle absorption!!!! Nowhere in the world has anyone put anything like this together into one model. Now we have it! All of these are toggleable on and off, so each one can be viewed on or off at any time. Also added multiple types of lighting and graphics controls , so that the user can control the amount of lighting, glow, thickness of the field lines when displayed, and the amount of the flashes per second using the Schumann hz filter, as well as the amount of brightness of each flash. Can go anywhere from 7hz up to 40+hz just like the actual Schumann resolance. You can also turn on "manual control" so that you can simulate "what would happen if" solar wind went up high or if the hz rate of the Schumann were to spike what it would look like magnetically on the spherical display of the magnetic field. Finally a record option was built in to allow for recording of movies in the program, which I have uploaded here now. Not the highest quality yet, but I figure people will use screen capture programs instead of this if they're making movies (this is fine for public use as is now imo). Also added in color controls for the background (default set to black) and for the magnetic field lines which default to Red and Blue just like the old NICT Japanese site which got shut down years ago.

For decades, biologists argued that birds migrate using magnetic fields, and that cryptochrome proteins in their eyes help them figure out where to fly. But the evidence for this has always been flimsy. In 1972, Wolfgang and Roswitha Wiltschko captured migratory European robins, put them in cages, covered the cages with a blanket, and wrapped electric coils around them. Once the birds lost their view of the sky, they still tried to move, or "hop," in the direction of their normal migration route. But when the Wiltschkos flipped the magnetic field around, the robins started hopping in random directions. They took this as evidence that, somehow, birds migrate using a magnetic sense. (Not bad!) In 2000, three theoretical biophysicists in Illinois, Ritz, Adem, and Schulten, proposed a mechanism for that magnetic sense. They argued that when blue light hits a receptor in the eye, it might create something called a "radical pair," locking two electrons into a spin state that a magnetic field could then nudge. They suggested that cryptochromes, light-sensitive proteins in the retina, might be responsible. (Speculative!) And then, in 2021, researchers apparently confirmed this! They took cryptochrome proteins from a type of migratory robin and put them in a test tube. They shone blue light at the proteins and found that this light induced them to form that transient "radical pair" state. And finally, they showed that magnetic fields could change this photochemistry where, in the presence of a magnetic field, the proteins formed fewer of these radical pairs, because the field forced a larger fraction of the excited molecules to ‘collapse’ back to their resting state. The experiment they used to measure this, though, has almost nothing to do with biology. You literally isolate the proteins, bombard them with a blue laser and, after each pulse, measure how much light the proteins absorb. For the robin cryptochrome protein, adding a magnetic field changed the absorbance *slightly.* But here’s the caveat: All of this was done in vitro, in a test tube, in a water-based buffer (rather than a cell). And, even worse, the experiment was done at 5 degrees Celsius (waaaay colder than the bird’s normal temperature) and at a low pH. And even after all this tinkering, they still *barely* saw a magnetic response! The news media didn't report many of these caveats. I randomly pulled one story from Science News and another from the University of Oxford, and neither even mentioned that the researchers ran the experiment at low temperature. The Oxford writeup actually hyped the result up more than the paper itself; that author wrote: “…the authors think the proteins involved could be significantly more sensitive in their native environment. In cells in the retina, the proteins are probably fixed and aligned, increasing their sensitivity to the direction of the magnetic field. Moreover, they are also likely to be associated with other proteins that could amplify the sensory signals." (Wow!) When Andrew York and Maria Ingaramo, two scientist working at Calico, heard about these results, they grew skeptical and decided to search for magnetically-responsive proteins — that actually work under physiological conditions — on their own. A separate study from the same lab showed that red light exposure reduced post-meal blood glucose spikes by 27%. These aren't fringe blogs. This is University College London published in Nature's Scientific Reports. The mechanism Huberman describes checks out. Your mitochondria contain water that absorbs long-wavelength red and infrared light — the same reason reds disappear when you go underwater. That absorption drives better ATP production, the energy currency of your cells. The retina has more mitochondria per cell than almost any other tissue in the body, which is why vision improvements show up as such a clean measurable signal. 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲. The Biden administration's energy efficiency regulations effectively phased out most incandescent bulbs. The stated reason was energy savings. What was never part of the regulatory conversation — at all — was the growing scientific literature suggesting that the near-infrared wavelengths stripped out of LED lighting may have real biological consequences. Whether that was ignorance or indifference, the result is the same: Americans were nudged by government policy into lighting that the emerging science suggests is metabolically inferior. For indoor lighting, not all LEDs are equal. Look for "full spectrum" or "broad spectrum" LED bulbs that include wavelengths in the 600–900 nm range. "Warm white" LEDs (2700–3000K color temperature) are closer to incandescent output and include more red-spectrum light than the cool blue-dominant bulbs. They're not a perfect substitute for sunlight, but they're meaningfully better than standard cool-white LEDs for this purpose. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱: get outside every day.
