announcing tigma, my latest weekend project. It's like figma but for TUIs try it: `bunx tigma` → supports text, lines, rectangles → drag to move around and resize → edit text, change stroke and fill, multiple selection, and more (music by me!)

wow i was just thinking last week "why can't someone build this"

so good!!!!

omg the man himself!! thank you 🫡

my biggest goal was to be able to hand this off to an AI to implement it (with OpenTUI) I haven't quite solved that yet. A screenshot doesn't work well, AI should easily be able to get the raw data representing the UI. I tried integrating an MCP server in the app so AI could get the data, but if you include fg and bg colors it's very big and token inefficient

I also tried running this under tmux, and the AI is able to do `tmux capture-pane -t tigma -p` to read the screen. unfortunately that doesn't give it colors I think the MCP server is still probably the best way to get the data, but what's an efficient way to serialize it?

a joy to read that index.ts

there’s a deep beauty to it for my own personal software eng reputation though just want to clarify that I’ve even barely read it haha. Opus 4.5 wrote it. It’s so easy to debug though

simple code is easy to reason about, for both humans and machines

This is absolutely insane and I love it 🥰 Nice work!

thanks! 🫡

epic! cc @CameronFoxly more stuff for TUI product design y'all want to collab on a VT-HIG standard?

@CameronFoxly cool stuff! I will look at this, currently I’m still shaping my opinions

Hey @willking, looks like we havre to have James on the show again.

my fav thing about this so far is how simple the repo is. the music is pretty great too.

heck yeah! side projects should be simple

when will you drop the 'how to' on the audio track?

I started down this path one day and pulled back before I nerd sniped myself further:

sickkkkkkk I've been looking for something like this is using the mouse required though? I'd like to be able to control it entirely with my keyboard

ok damn!

we can finally get rid of david now

this is sick

Very nice, I started this one 4 days ago but then got diverted -- not as close as you've got and I stuggled to with the implementation I started going down a ghostty web socket server wrapper app that could be fed the updates in realtime but no luck (yet) Any if any of it helps, the code is here

Ah exactly what I was looking for 🫡

whoa that looks really cool

Distilled from the insight that 'AI navigates meaning as a geometry' and building an entire semantic design system around that. While I lack the formal design and dev background, I have extensively documented my leitmotivs and inspiration which has been more than enough for AI to translate it into functional, consistent components.

Shouldn't it be CLIgma?

A-MAZING!

Is there somewhere for open source beats like that u can fork and add on to and possibly merge etc …. Note to self look this up….

would be cool there is this site for getting music for videos which is good for a default mood: I enjoy creating though

What do u use to do that ? Make that music ? It’s really cool.

mostly the minifreak (started with some preset sounds and did a bunch of tweaking) and editing in Logic

i love that agents have made the terminal so much more used that we need a tool like this. awesome!

Bro you coookeeeedddd so harrrddddd

awesome!!!

love that you did the music for this

Absolutely nuts. Congrats on the launch!

termux user here… if only this worked there 😅. super dope regardless

👏👏👏

@thdxr

@MisterMattRoth this is dope!

thank you. we do be needing a tigma round here. urgently.

wow this is a great demo

@thdxr you were looking for something like this a while ago

This is so cool!

announcing ligma, my latest weekend project. It's like figma but for NUIs (nut-based interfaces)

@basedjensen tigma balls

🔥

Waiting for Ligma to happen. cc. @ThePrimeagen
