Section sweep view generated by ForgeCAD CLI

Again used a skill to expand the given prompt into a detailed spec with GPT-5.5

GPT-5.5-Pro built this model in 10 files

GPT-5.5-Pro built the model but had minor collisions which it could detect as has no access to forgecad cli in the @ChatGPTapp environment. Asked GPT-5.5 in Codex to iteratively fix it. Access the model and code here:

Could you share a bit more detail? This is fascinating. As far as I understand, you installed ForgeCAD skill into Codex, gave it a prompt, and some sample images or files? Or did 5.5 come up with everything from scratch without a reference image or CAD asset?

No images, no files. Just the prompt and the skills.

Could you pretty please share the full prompt?

"a high-quality kitchen oven" is the prompt. But before it runs, I run it through a prompt preprocessor skill, which made it into this:

ok, now we're talking, thank you!

How close are the parts to being manufacturable, well designed parts?

I don't expect them to be ready for manufacturing as this is literally from first shot and minor positioning updates. For serious projects it will take iterations and careful part-by-part monitoring.

Totally makes sense! Really impressive stuff though.

curious can u try an inorganic model that would actually be more complex proper geometry on an insect, wild animal or hybrid half human with usable UVs

really hope that AI will go further in this regard, I myself am an architect by profession (I studied at the university) and it would be cool to create families of the same Revit very quickly just according to the description architects will then reach a whole new level. I mean purely architects, not constructors (it will be hell for constructors)

what the f, awful, all odd

Hi @ruben_kostard are examples out of date? Tried opening this one shoe-rack-doors.forge.js looks like attached.

Yes, sorry, right now working on that.

The problem is some versions ago the centering logic was changed, I am removing/fixing the broken examples.

Awesome stuff looking forward to same!

Done with first iteration, had to remove some examples, will add more with time.

wait...wait....wait a minute....we are now here? damn

@ForgeCAD do you have a tutorial

@ForgeCAD Not yet, but you can check the examples in

Interesting times, time to get a 3D printer

How long did the request take?

15 minutes on GPT-5.5-Pro, then a few minutes of iteration on the collisions in Codex

😮

I’m about to start posting my robot lol

Awesome 👏

Can’t be

This is cool!

this is crazy, im worried for my engineering brothers

I see alot of autoCAD software, are they actually being used in practice or it's still a toy?

I would like to clarify whether I need to continuously keep forgecad skill and context.md aligned with the latest updates to ensure optimal quality.

Yes, forgecad skill install should automatically update it

Your npm package doesn't seem to have been updated for a long time. When can users expect to use the latest version of your project?According to your github

Next version I'll publish beginning next week due to travels

is this for actual usage? ie would u trust a schematic it made for actual prototyping/modeling?

I have made a full office table with this, made 3d prints, wood working projects, etc. But if it's something I want to make, I'll measure everything, check multiple times before going ahead.

nice Steam Machine case

Can this be exported as a CAD file?

What made you pick kitchen oven specifically, did you try something more abstract first to see where it actually breaks?

GPT-5.5 generating a fully articulated 3D oven with working door hinges and collision detection from a single prompt is not a normal thing to be able to do
