I admire the ability to be so polite yet so clearly express disdain for what they’re saying

i still remember so vividly in school some girl telling me she didn’t know how to make microwave popcorn without burning it cause her maid always made it for her 😭😭 like im not saying im judging families with maids but im not *not* saying that

The fact they tried to laugh it off as they talked about maids as if the women taking care of them weren't human, weren't in the workforce themselves, disgusting

I recently started to read and watch his work and he was such a breath of fresh air.

His friend redzepi from noma was terribly abusive and he turned a blind eye. Also the episode in Jerusalem, he was so sarcastic when the Palestinian man told him that he’s the reason he can’t return home. Bourdain is cool but he’s definitely not always right.
