Let’s talk about Gemini 3 Pro. There’s really no other way to say it. The benchmarks are incredible. The jump was dramatic – much more than most people expected. Perplexity Comet Assistant got a major upgrade yesterday. It’s now much more reliable and performs 23% better in internal tests, so I decided to put it to the test. The task was to handle my LinkedIn account, follow the CEO of Perplexity, find a specific post, and comment under it, and it nailed it in one shot. It’s navigating more like a human now, and its reasoning at each step is quite good in how it decides the next move. Comet has become really powerful.

🚨 OpenAI just launched Codex, a brand-new autonomous coding agent that can build features and fix bugs on its own. We’ve been using it Every 📧 for a few days, and I’m impressed. I invited Alexander Embiricos (ben davies), a member of the product staff responsible for Codex, to demo Codex and talk about it live on a special edition of AI & I: What Codex is and how it works Codex is designed to be used by senior engineers—it performs coding tasks like adding features or fixing bugs autonomously. It's built to allow you to start many sessions at once, so you can have multiple agents working in parallel. Codex is built to have "taste" OpenAI trained Codex to have the taste of a senior software engineer. It knows how big codebases work, how to write a good PR, and uses clean, minimal code. Why an “abundance mindset” is best for interacting with agents Codex is designed to allow users to delegate many tasks at once without getting caught up in the details. This lets you point an abundance of agents at a specific task like a difficult bug—it’s worth it even if only one of them succeeds. How OpenAI is thinking about agents Codex is one piece of a unified super-assistant OpenAI wants to eventually build—an agent that helps users easily get things done by selecting the right tools for them behind the scenes. OpenAI’s vision for the future of programming In the future developers will probably spend less time writing routine code and more time guiding agents, reviewing their work, and making strategy decisions. AI slop is real. Most of it sucks. I’ve been writing newsletters by hand since 2017. It took me a while to get comfortable letting AI into that process. But the system we’ve built at TFTC has changed how I work, so I decided to show the whole thing. I dump links and voice notes into Telegram. Martin researches them, checks my framing, pulls context from nine years of writing and podcast transcripts, and builds the Ghost draft. Then I go through it. I pick the stories. I tighten the argument. I kill bad writing. Nothing gets published unless I approve it. While Martin is working, I can go do something else. That’s it. Not magic. Not “press a button and become a writer.” Just a hell of a lot more leverage. Watch it and tell me if I’m a sellout.

In our $KGN earnings call today, it sounded like it's David Shafer and I presenting but it wasn't. Our voices were AI generated and read the script. We uploaded several hours of our prior talks to train our voice model and the results were pretty incredible. This saved us a few hours preparation - valuable time we could spend working on other areas of the business. This is an example of the many one percenters across our business where AI is making us more efficient and helping the team be more productive. Our marketing team uses it to improve our content and make it more enaging. Our Engineering team uses it to get more context of our entire code base quicker and produce production ready code more rapidly. Our purchasing teams are using it for data and trend analysis to bring the latest products to our customers at even better prices. The list goes on. While the productivity gains are exciting, what's even more exciting is the pace at which things are changing and the technology is getting better!
