Anyone who has worked with light baking in Unreal Engine probably knows about Lightmass Replace node, I experienced its effect yesterday, so I wanted to share it with you. If an object is affected by baking and has emission, then you can separate 2 values #gamedev #UnrealEngine

When I play Splatoon, I consistently have an issue where my controller gyro fights me and moves left or right by itself, as shown in the clip. This has happened on multiple controllers, with different Switches, so it's clearly an issue with my setup. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, were you able to fix it?

If you're working with mirrored geometry in Blender, you can offset the UVs easily by going into the Data dropdown in the mirror modifier and set the U Offset to 1 and then apply the modifier. This is essential for texturing and baking properly without issue!

One of the nicest things about Stockbee’s bootcamp was being able to talk about trading without boring everyone around me 😂 Back home, I hardly knew anyone who traded seriously. Being in a room with people who were just as interested in this stuff as I was meant a lot. But it’s not just about finding people who share your interest. You need people who are better traders than you, have more experience and an edge you can learn from. That can be uncomfortable. You think you understand a setup, then someone explains what they’re looking at and you realize how much you’ve been missing. That’s why I wanted to share this clip of stockbee walking us through a setup at his 2023 bootcamp. I’d rather ask a basic question in that room than spend another year at home making the same mistake. It’s tempting to stay around people who agree with you. I’m trying to put myself in more situations where I have to listen and learn. Even if I feel like the dumbest guy in the room for a while.

I've been pondering something... My end goal with my city simulator is to publish it on Steam. I was planning on using Three.js for prototyping and then porting this over to Unity to take advantage of ECS/Burst. But then I realized I could probably port all of the simulation code from TypeScript to Rust if I wanted to make it ultra-fast. And then I can continue to use Three.js for the renderer and then embed it into an Electron app. Is that a dumb idea? What pitfalls are there with this approach? Curious what people's experience publishing games using Electron has been.

I was disappointed when I heard this statement. If you claim to be an elder then act it with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. All of you need to start doing better. 2026 go gbona.

I am summing up our interaction with big boys of global engine supply chain in Wings India. Pratt & Whitney and Rolls Royce stated : An engine is a complex and strategic tech, most of the players have mastered it with more than half a century of continous efforts. India has shown phenomonal efforts and progress in their pursuit of developing of an engine. India has the minds, it just need a right collabration to speed up the process which can take 10-15 years on its own.

you pay it in reliability/strength but a thing i really love about low-cost 3d-printed hardware is how it can be so harmless by design (plastic made with low-cost motors). kids can just play and experiment with it without risks/supervision and that’s such an amazing way to learn

Selecting stuff in the editor is guaranteed to piss you off, so how bout I fix that too! While in the edit tab, if you hold alt over an area with multiple objects, it shows every object under your mouse. You can use the scroll wheel or arrows to navigate. (Desktop only for now)
