APD is cracking down on drivers operating vehicles in the city without proper license plates. Starting next week, Traffic Division officers, will work in a patrol capacity to target individuals who are driving illegally without a proper license plate.

Deputy Holmes and Deputy Hackler were on patrol around 11:00 p.m. on February 5 when they stopped a motorist for driving without license plates. Daniel Elias told deputies he didn't know how to install his plates due to a learning disability. He had his license plates with him, as well as proper insurance and registration. Rather than give him a ticket, the deputies helped him put his license plates on. He was so appreciative and encouraged us to share the video. Thank you Deputy Holmes and Deputy Hackler for the genuine kindness and compassion you showed Mr. Elias. #helpingthecommunity #kindnessmatters #serveandprotect
