I agree with the other people saying it’s a driver detection issue. When I have my daughter on my lap it won’t allow FSD and says “driver not detected”

This has nothing to do with FSD "loading". If you put the car in gear and start to drive, you will be able to pull down on the stalk and turn on FSD immediately. This is a detection of driver bug. If I lean forward, it will sometimes turn blue but then change back. It goes off and on when sitting in park.

Troubleshooting steps that I can think of: Is your cabin camera for some reason unclear? Does it only happen after charging? Does it also happen if parked in front of the garage?

Try this experiment. Disable the wifi connection to your house then see if it loads faster through the Tesla AT&T connection. Just a suggestion.

I have seen mine do something similar to this while it tries to get a gps lock on its exact location. The one time it enabled right away it had my location over a block away. Would think it could remember from when i parked.

Here FSD rolls up in direct sun, spots the kid way before I did, and applies the brakes. But what came after stunned me. Another bike, and another, then a gap, and another bike (and a bonus scooter). At no time did FSD attempt to jump the gap between the children (even when it could have). There was no jitter or indecision. FSD just patiently waited until they all came around the corner and crossed the street. It stayed perfectly still so as not to scare the children. Just like a human would. I’ve seen a lot of amazing things with FSD, but this one really impressed me on a deeper level. As a father, I’m happy knowing more people are using Tesla FSD to keep their own kids safe and to ensure the safety of the kids on the road.

I hesitate posting this for a bunch of reasons, but I think it's good to just be transparent about everything. I love to highlight all of the incredible things that FSD does, but I also think it's good to talk about any issues that it has currently. In my opinion the E2E on the highway needs some major changes. This clip was from my drive yesterday, and it is without a doubt the most dangerous situation that FSD has put me in. Yes, I am aware that it is FSD Supervised - everything that happens in the car is ultimately my responsbility. I just was wanting to see what the car would do, and I was hoping that it would make a better decision to be honest. Let me know what you think.

This traffic circle has been a long-standing pain point for me on FSD. As you can see, the car consistently drives in the bike lane here. I’ve documented this behavior before on FSD 12, 13, and now 14. The issue appears to stem from outdated map data. This section of the circle used to function as a two-way roadway. At the time, there was no bike lane and vehicles traveled in the space FSD still prefers today. Since the redesign, that area is now a dedicated bike lane, but FSD doesn’t reliably recognize the change. Depending on the version, it will occasionally handle this correctly, but most of the time it does not. This is currently the only issue I consistently experience with FSD. It’s not safety critical. The car will move if a cyclist, vehicle, or object is present, but reliance on outdated map data in locations like this needs to improve.

Forget UPL, it's the Devin's simple right hand turn that FSD needs to master first. I am blown away that software as good as FSD can make mistakes as simple but devastating as this. This is the second time in less than two weeks that FSD has tried to pull infront of a vehicle on a VERY SIMPLE right hand turn. The car drove pretty much flawlessly all day today (3~ hours of driving) but it ends the day with a move like this and it just takes all the confidence I have with FSD away in a simple move. I understand that the version of FSD we have today is not what will be used in Austin in June, but the fact that FSD is making decisions like this and 'full autonomy' is less than 3 months away - it's a bit concerning to me. We have yet to see any official cases of V14 being applied outside of the United States and Canada. I've just completed my first FSD run for about an hour. (I've experienced about 10,000km of FSD in the U.S.) Except for the parking lot, there was never a case where I intervened during the FSD drive. The first impression of the FSD that works in Korea is that it is very amazing and a great achievement of the Tesla AI team. Although there was one case where I went off the road without following the navigation, the FSD thought to itself and drove on the right path. The overall experience in Korea was very good, such as turning left, turning right, U turn, joining lanes, and changing lanes. It's kind of like... an American driver driving in Korea on an international driver's license. If more data is generated in the future and the number of users increases, higher achievement of FSD in Korea is very much expected. I can't wait for more people to experience FSD in Korea! (Tesla Korea is a HW4 vehicle that purchased FSD and will update the FSD (Supervised) in the future for vehicles suitable for VIN number 5or7.

Just did a Cybertruck demo and… wow… I get it now… It was my first time ever driving a Tesla and first time using FSD… It’s absolutely insane. I knew it would be good but didn’t realize it was THAT good… If you want to see the most pure and joyful reactions to FSD, here’s my pregnant wife and 2.5 year old son experiencing it for the first time… We returned the demo and ordered a Cybertruck two hours later… Elon Musk deserves to be a trillionaire and anyone who says differently should be scorned then ignored.

I’m increasingly confident in FSD and let situations play out I never would have before. Last night my wife was yelling at me about this SUV speeding through a parking lot. It was pretty obvious they were going to try and exit pit lane ahead of me. No problem. But then they panicked stopped. FSD handled it fine. My wife was full of rage at the idiot though. I don’t get road rage anymore on FSD. I’m just chill.

Tonight I used FSD to leave a parking lot. It exited correctly but accidentally turned into a car wash entrance, thinking it was the exit. It literally had nowhere to go because the car wash was closed. For some people, if this happened to them, they would get mad and say, “FSD is trash—it can’t even leave a parking lot correctly.” They would disengage, turn around, leave, and talk about how much of a regression the software is. Note: This was on FSD 14.3.3. For me, my first thought was: Okay, how many times have we ourselves taken a wrong turn by accident and needed to turn around? Maybe we misread a road sign, maybe we were talking to someone and not paying attention, or maybe we were on our phone and made a mistake. Yet we give ourselves a pass. We just turn around and don’t think anything of it. So I thought, Let’s see what FSD does. Well, it took a few tries, but it nicely turned around and found the correct exit all on its own. I didn’t do anything. It didn’t phone home to Tesla or need anyone to correct it. My point is that so many people discredit how good FSD really is because they want to highlight the mistakes. I think it’s more important to recognize how well it can safely address those mistakes and find a solution on its own.
