lowkey love the system I wanna go all out and PvP for the night? game puts me in lobbies for that I just wanna chill and farm mats + currency? The game puts me in lobbies for that W embark

I know the system gets a lot of heat but ya amazing for a casual

Mfs playing crowbar simulator and doing conga lines in an extraction shooter

lol so unbelievably stupid to have in an extraction game

Sbmm in an extraction shooter COMBINED with Abmm lmfao they should add a bottle feeding mode next for the babies that defend this hot pile of garbage

Trash game. Cod better

Unemployed tryhards are so angry rn.

I was shot in the back. And killed the traitor Then I get put in far more aggressive matches It’s not fair that self defense = more pvp

aggression based mm is super interesting but the balancing of it sounds terrible. youre telling me an entire lobby of PVE players take down a Matriach and get a ton of loot but then PVP players are literally fighting for scraps and free kits. Investment wise that shit is wack

I’m not inherently against aggression based matchmaking, it helps cover the extremes of PvP only and people who don’t want to fight players. But for anyone who wants to exist in the gray area it’s pretty insane. Sometimes I want to PvP, sometimes I want to chill. The game doesn’t let me do that. I’m punished by being stuck with PvP only lobbies where the only way I can get out is by dying over and over on free loadouts. I’m not allowed to defend myself because it keeps me in those lobbies. On the other hand when I was in super friendly lobbies, I’m not the type to just blast chill people. So there’s a heavy discouragement for trying to engage in PvP as the other players aren’t interested making it one-sided. The middle gray area needs to be much larger than however it’s configured now. I want to have a reasonable chance of someone being friendly, while also not having it be a given. I want **some** amount of tension but I don’t want endless mindless PvP. Skill based matchmaking also feels like it should be a LITTLE bit looser. The stakes are high so I wouldn’t ever argue to get rid of it but higher skill level players are also the ones most engaging with PvP. So not only can you choose to not fight, when you’re pushed to it’s often times just an irritating experience. All that said I’m still playing every day so none of this is a dealbreaker. It just feels too lopsided in either direction. I’ll also point out that this is much more of an issue in solos. In groups the SBMM feels good and I’m fine with focusing on PvP when not solo.

Aggression based matchmaking actually makes a lot of sense. I was on the fence about it at first but I think the option to change your style and experience the game in a different way works wonders.

I start each session by running into stella with nothing and get myself killed 5 or 6 times. Than the farming starts. If they’re gonna have stupid algorithm based matchmaking like this, I’m sure as hell gonna abuse it.

-Free kits should always be the latest spawn. -do away with agro based mm and replace it with something similar to divisions dark zone i.e. rogue status. -eliminate any kind of bs SBMM.

Brb heading into lobbies with no gun

God, I hope Marathon won't have any matchmaking like this because this genuinely defeats the entire purpose of an extraction shooter.

Ya it doesn’t work very well in practice. Aggression isn’t differentiated from defending. Which leads to all kinds of weird behavior. Like standing there not /not shooting back to avoid more aggressive lobbies. Or people tanking their rating with free kits and then clearing whole lobbies at an extraction There’s also something to be said about the kind of game this will be if people never have the threat of PvP. It’s essentially a loot sim. I Encourage them to rethink this model and think about the long term impact.

over a week ago? from what date? what are u even talking about jake

I’m really into the current matchmaking system. It lets me decide exactly how I want to spend my time. If I want to go balls to the wall in PvP, I can just dive in and the system recognizes that. It works the same way if I want to scale back. I hope they never change it.

Streamers stomping on timmy wonder why every match everyone is suddenly more aggressive towards them and everyone must be cheating.

Yup. Their SBMM is so easy to manipulate. I went from sweaty PvP lobbies then went in free a bunch and purposely avoided people / fights. Now my lobbies are with people who don’t even know how to turn off prox chat. I’m racking up so much cash

A week ago? Aggression based had been in the game for 2 months. We tested it time and time again with 100% success. We noticed and have been using it accordingly way way before it was even a topic of conversation.

Makes sense to me. As a newbie its allowing me to get my feet wet and take it slow.

For all those very upset by this. Go play literally any other exfil shooter. You can stomp on Timmy’s to your hearts content while the player counts dwindle. What’s that saying, not every game is meant for everyone? This one ain’t meant for the mega sweats. And that’s okay.

I think they should limit how many free kits you can use per day or per hour. Free kits are the first people to try to shoot me in the back because they have nothing to lose. Since the guns are all capable of knocking you fast they can easily kill you and take your premium loot if they get the drop on you. I don't mind losing a gun battle at all. I understand PVP is part of the game, but I rarely ever just shoot someone who didn't shoot me first.

The only people mad are the aggressive players because instead of curb-stomping some guy just trying to get loot they now have to go against other people like them They should do some introspection and consider why they hate playing with people like themselves

actually a pretty clever idea to satisfy two types of players, but could've just done one full PvE mode and one PvP dedicated modes.

Yeah problem with this is that if im already in pvp lobby, theres literally no incentive to be friendly ever

This matchmaking drama is so dumb bro. People are really mad about other people's matchmaking...💀

A weird line of interviews that exposed this game's cracks. They first claim they added PVP because it made the game boring and then say PVP isn't important, it just adds tense uncertainy but at the same time, implented a MM algorithm that seperates PVE players and PVP players.

100% felt the difference and this is the best way to go to make the most natural feeling game with everyone being happy. Before if you were good you played straight up demons and cheaters every lobby. Now I noticed that you still get PvP lobbies but they aren’t unbearable. W

Prffffff fuckin lies I rarely do PvP and I still get thrown in maps with em

The more aggressive they make the SBMM the faster the game will die. Part of what makes this game so good is the fact that you never know what’s going to happen. SBMM makes EVERY game feel the same.

i think im more irritated about SBMM than ABMM

Sounds like a fancy way of saying the game mirrors how sweaty you play.

This is fine with me. This should be OK with everyone else too. Lay off the trigger finger if you keep getting killed, you'll get less violent lobbies. Pretty straight forward.

This is like a fucking month or 2 old old🤣🤣 he said it on this stream ages ago ya retard
