Are Catholic Charities programs in Spokane, Washington, contributing to the crime and disorder that small-business owners say is forcing them to close? I traveled to Spokane to investigate. What I found were serious problems in and around several Catholic Charities

properties operating under the Housing First model. Business owners and community members described repeated crime, public drug use, disturbances, and other behavior they say has harmed the surrounding

neighborhood and made it increasingly difficult to remain open. Catholic Charities Eastern Washington’s executive director, Rob McCann, has not responded well to criticism. Multiple community members told me they received cease-and-desist letters after

publicly criticizing his organization or its programs. When I emailed McCann seeking his response to the allegations, he sent back a shocking and deeply unprofessional message that attacked

me and the organization I am working with instead of directly addressing the concerns raised by businesses, residents, and homeless people.

The executive Director Rob McCann, who is a self-described “racist” makes a a lot of money but refuses any type of criticism. I made repeated efforts to reach him to try to get a homeless woman unfairly kicked out of a shelter, but he never got back.

With his history of sending out cease and desist letters, I have no doubt he will send me one. I am very disappointed and concerned about this agency that is supposedly helping the Homeless. This

@WallStreetApes I stopped supporting Catholic charities several years ago when it was reported they were responsible for transporting thousands of illegal migrants from many countries. the Church is corrupted in many ways.mostly from the inside .you only have to look at the German church

As an occasional visitor to Spokane & a Catholic I would say yes. I didn't draw the distinction the 1st time I visited but I have since & completely avoid those parts of downtown where they are located. It can be worse than Portland in certain parts.

They enable the fentanyl crisis in downtown Spokane. There is an ambulance and firetruck at the one downtown constantly. They have wrecked downtown Spokane

Catholic Charities is one of the largest if not the largest charity that traffics humans into our country. They are essentially a Human Trafficking Organization and no one wants to admit it and no one wants to investigate them. They are evil

They are notorious. One operation in Pioneer Square (SEA) protected their vulnerable client who ran inside after snatching a woman’s purse. This isn’t meant to condemn any religion, great work exists, as well as in my part of town , it is my native Lutheran activists enabling.
