I queued up for over an hour tonight to get the last ever £3 fish supper from the cheapest chippy in the UK before the prices go up Stan and his family have been feeding the local community for over 20 years, they charge £3 for haddock and chips, and a sauce, under a third of the UK average price of £10. The shop is in one of the most deprived areas of the town, where many struggle to put food on the table His prices mean people eat a meal at a price they can afford The price of fish has risen dramatically over the last few weeks going from around £1.50 per kilo to £3.70 Mathews chippy prides itself on serving the community they supply me for FREE all my meals I provide to the homeless in my town they are a credit to the community and a jewel in our crown they put the great into Grimsby but they're too struggling with the costs of everything rising Tonight saw me served the last ever £3 fish supper before prices rise on Tuesday to £3.50, please show me a meal that can match this in the UK for £3.50 right on your doorstep in the heart of your community

A few people have been asking for more food posts during our RV roadtrip in Xinjiang so here you go, our dinner tonight: a plate of the famous Dapanji, probably the most iconic Xinjiang dish (literally meaning "big plate chicken"), and an absurdly large fish - the size of a full salmon - cooked "hong shao" style ("red braised" fish). The price for it all: 230rmb, about USD33.

Los Angeles is full of hardware startups these days - most of them doing defense, energy, manufacturing and aerospace. But this week we bring you the story of a company making a fish killing robot. It's from Shinkei, and it's designed to kill fish in a more humane way using a method perfected in Japan and now automated with a robot. The fish are killed quickly instead of suffocating on a boat. And the result result for humans is better tasting, healthier fish. We went to El Segundo to see how the robot is made and operates and then hopped on a boat to see it in action on the sea. This is one of the more popular restaurant concepts in China nowadays, with dozens of chains around it: whole roasted fish, served in a large sizzling tray swimming in a bubbling sauce of your choice (like mala, pickled pepper, garlic, etc.), atop a bed of vegetables, noodles or tofu. And just like hotpot has its regional varieties all around China (Sichuan hotpot, Mongolia hotpot, etc.), so does roasted fish. We're now in a Xinjiang roasted fish chain restaurant called "Mayouyu" where they roast the fish in a Uyghur naan oven and serve the fish with... you'll have guessed it... Uyghur naans 😅 It's actually super good: to each their taste but I'm a much bigger fan of roasted fish than hotpot personally! I'm surprised this concept hasn't caught up in the West yet (to my knowledge): it's really awesome! It might have to do with the fact that people in the West aren't used to eat fish whole, instead always having it served filleted. They don't know what they miss!

Farmers never get a day off. 365 days a year they have to tend to & feed their livestock. Rain, sleet, snow, blizzard conditions, no matter what, they are working. There is no calling in sick. No clocking out at 5pm on a Friday and then back in on Monday. Every day they are caring for their livestock at all hours of the day and night. It’s hard work. It’s not for the weak or delicate. They are prepping and preparing the best they can. The rest they leave in the hands of the Lord. Prayers for all of our farmers and a big thank you. God Bless You. ❤️
