Artists favorite Rendering solution is constantly evolving 📈 ! As we continue to build one of the best rendering solutions available on the market, our developers have been working on some exciting new features that we've just released: - Playback feature: Artists can now preview their frame sequences in... real-time as a video (including partially rendered sequences). - New batching mechanism: This speeds up renders and includes enhanced UI changes for a better representation of the state of batched renders. - Additional UI changes: These include log enhancements that enable artists to easily view logs for individual frames in real-time. Further game-changing enhancements are already in progress, making OctaRender the best rendering platform available anywhere. 🏆show more

We’ve been saying that OctaRender is the rendering breakthrough every artist has been waiting for, but today, we MEASURE that. We don’t just build a feature-rich platform — we build something that performs. Our goal is for artists to get results as quickly as possible, without compromising on quality. We are continually improving, optimizing, and benchmarking against other platforms. Here's an example of a render comparison between The Render platform and OctaRender. You can check out the comparison in render speeds in the video. Render Info: - Scene: 100 frames at 1024 samples - Rendered on: $RENDER (left) using their Tier 2 (highest speed level) and on OctaRender (right) Notes: The render on OctaRender uses Cycles, while on Render, it uses Octane. Both engines are comparable in terms of rendering capabilities. OctaRender with Cycles maintains compositing nodes.

VideoRF: Rendering Dynamic Radiance Fields as 2D Feature Video Streams paper page: Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) excel in photorealistically rendering static scenes. However, rendering dynamic, long-duration radiance fields on ubiquitous devices remains challenging, due to data storage and computational constraints. In this paper, we introduce VideoRF, the first approach to enable real-time streaming and rendering of dynamic radiance fields on mobile platforms. At the core is a serialized 2D feature image stream representing the 4D radiance field all in one. We introduce a tailored training scheme directly applied to this 2D domain to impose the temporal and spatial redundancy of the feature image stream. By leveraging the redundancy, we show that the feature image stream can be efficiently compressed by 2D video codecs, which allows us to exploit video hardware accelerators to achieve real-time decoding. On the other hand, based on the feature image stream, we propose a novel rendering pipeline for VideoRF, which has specialized space mappings to query radiance properties efficiently. Paired with a deferred shading model, VideoRF has the capability of real-time rendering on mobile devices thanks to its efficiency. We have developed a real-time interactive player that enables online streaming and rendering of dynamic scenes, offering a seamless and immersive free-viewpoint experience across a range of devices, from desktops to mobile phones.

EnvGS: Modeling View-Dependent Appearance with Environment Gaussian Contributions: • We propose a novel scene representation for accurately modeling complex near-field and high-frequency reflections in real-world environments. • We developed a real-time ray-tracing renderer for 2DGS, enabling joint optimization of our representation for accurate scene reconstruction while achieving real-time rendering speeds. • Extensive experiments show that EnvGS significantly outperforms previous methods. To the best of our knowledge, EnvGS is the first method to achieve real-time photorealistic specular reflections synthesis in real-world scenes.

Often underestimated how fast 3D meshes can be rendered on modern GPUs: my RTX5070 easily renders billions of triangles a second! Nothing beats this for real-time graphics. Rendering is blazing fast, physics works, and ready for interaction. Question is how to generate them :)

For the first time, the three of us are in the same place in life - and as we continue to grow as brothers, husbands, fathers & artists, this project is a window into our lives. It’s the story of where we have been, what we have learned and where we are now.

In feature film VFX, our lighting teams spend a lot of time shaving off as much render time as possible. Even 1 minute saved per frame adds up. For a 5 second shot, 1 minute less per frame saves you 2 hours of rendering per shot. Our shots are usually a lot heavier than this and our teams usually get a lot more optimization for render times than 1 minute per frame. Some shots can be rendering for up to 30 hours per frame depending on complexity. Large studios have a plethora of optimization tools which shave off a lot of render time from our shots. Rendering technology is always improving, bringing render times down and increasing physical accuracy. Video is of Hyperion with interactive rendering with Pixar's RenderMan XPU renderer, which is up to 5x faster than their older RIS architecture.

Sharing one cool Rockstar game detail every day until GTA 6 releases: 73 days left. In GTA San Andreas, shooting the moon with a sniper rifle changes the moon's size. This has always been an odd feature and one that went unexplained until a Rockstar dev opened up on why its in the game thanks to Obbe Vermeij. The artists at Rockstar couldn't agree on what size the moon should be in San Andreas and Obbe was working on the sniper rifle at this time. So he gave the sniper the ability to change the size of the moon, making it easier for the artists to decide which moon size looks best. the artists never got back to Obbe & this feature was forgotten. It ended up shipping in the final game by accident!

Introducing LTX-2.5, the world model the world builds on. One of the biggest upgrades yet to the model already powering film, robotics, and real-time workflows. Higher pixel fidelity, multishot scenes that hold together across cuts, and a pretrained foundation built to be finetuned across domains. Plus: Diffusion Fidelity Rendering, a new rendering approach built for pixel quality that holds up frame by frame, even on a cinema screen. This isn't a tool you rent. It's a foundation you build on, open and yours.

It’s been hard to keep this one under wraps because we’re about as excited as we’ve ever been to release a record. We think Prizefighter is the best music we’ve ever made, and we’ve never been happier doing it. With the help of our old friend Aaron Dessner, we found this creative flow that brought out the best in us as artists, and made us feel comfortable in our skins, and confident in what we have to bring to this mad world of music. We also thought the time, and the songs, were right to invite some of our favourite artists in the world to collaborate with us: Chris Stapleton, Gracie Abrams, Gigi Perez and, of course, Hozier. We cannot fucking wait for you to hear it. Prizefighter, our sixth album, will be released on 13th February 2026 and is available to pre-order now.
