India is pushing ahead with the next generation of its indigenous fighter engine programme—Kaveri 2.0. Developed from the experience gained through the original Kaveri engine, the new programme aims to overcome the challenges that previously prevented India from using Kaveri to power the Tejas fighter. The bigger goal is strategic: develop a powerful indigenous turbofan that can eventually support India’s future combat aircraft, including the AMCA. A successful Kaveri 2.0 could give India greater control over critical engine technology, reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and strengthen its ability to design and build advanced fighter aircraft. But developing a modern fighter engine is one of the most difficult challenges in aerospace engineering. From high-temperature turbine technology and materials to combustion, efficiency and reliability, Kaveri 2.0 will have to clear several major technological hurdles before it can become an operational fighter engine. #kaveri #KaveriEngine #amca #tejas #FighterJet

#WATCH | Delhi: At the ANI National Security Summit 2.0, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh says, "We are proceeding with procurements of 4.5 generation aircraft, our fifth generation fighter program, hopefully entirely indigenous, the AMCA, and as well as various unmanned combat vehicle programs that DRDO and HAL are undertaking..." DRDO Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat says, "I think the role of fighter aircraft is not going to go away in the near future, at least the next 15, 20 years. What will happen is the man-unmanned teaming. The manned fighter and the unmanned aircrafts will have to work together, as the Defence Secretary said, in a networked environment to get the most effective solution to do attack options." Chief of Integrated Defence Staff Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit says, "...In our lifetime, we are not going to see the demise of fighter aircraft. However, fighter aircraft will be carrying three or four loyal wingmen with them that we will see in the next four or five years."

The first operational B-21 is expected to arrive at Ellsworth Air Force Base in 2027, with the Air Force ultimately targeting a fleet of 100 aircraft. The F-47 is scheduled for its first flight in 2028, with plans to acquire 185 jets to replace the F-22 as America’s premier air superiority fighter. The F-47 is also expected to operate alongside Collaborative Combat Aircraft, giving it the ability to work with autonomous “loyal wingman” drones. With both programs accelerating, America is rapidly building a new generation of stealth bombers, sixth generation fighters and autonomous combat aircraft. Fighter pilot Major Trent McMullen flies alongside the XQ-58 drone, controlled by artificial intelligence. AI drones can intercept enemy aircraft, process massive amounts of data, and even engage in limited dogfights.
