does the agent get the render back as an image so it can look at it and adjust, or just a file url? that decides if it can iterate on its own

Both. You get a real image block back, not just a URL, so the model can actually look at what it made. The full-res PNG is a separate download link so a 4K render doesn't eat your context. The server infact even tells the agent to look at the image and see if its looking good and if not, it will try a different effect or tweak properties
