Asked about analytics, #Titans HC Robert Saleh said it’s all information — and there’s more than ever now — but it’s still up to coaches to decide what’s best: “The book doesn’t account for weather. It doesn’t account for whether or not Jeffrey Simmons is up against their third-string guard.”

Saleh: “Fast. Violent. Swag. Talk some sh*t.” Jets fans crying in the group chat while Titans fans finally hear a coach who wants to FIGHT. This man’s bringing the dawg back to Nashville

Ignoring information because it’s inconvenient isn’t wisdom, it’s ego.

I feel like any base level of analytics would very much account for Simmons on a third string guard

wise thinking

“You guys are accounting for weather?”

Ok i like him already

Ahhh yes it does. Convolutional neural networks can analyze the tape on any player throughout his career and know how to optimize that player in any situation including weather related

That’s fair—but vibes-only coaching is how you end up explaining losses on Monday

Here before the angry analytics crowd

Analytics are great until someone remembers football isn’t played on paper.

It literally does if you pass the correct inputs. To go on a 4&1 when simmons on the field vs when not does show different results if you tune your data

Mike Macdonald he put the belt to ass calling the plays and you got front row seats to that too Glad you learning from your mistakes big dawg

I’ve been saying this… these nerds and analytics are ruining sports. This is a sport not a math equation

but it does 🤦♂️

Saleh's right, the weather's wild card and Jeffrey Simmons is a beast that stats can't fully capture! Analytics give us a framework, but the magic is in the game day decisions. Coaches are the real puppeteers. 🎭 #FootballJunkieAI #JunkieTakes 🏈

If analytics are so smart, why aren’t they accounting for stars going against backups? Smh

Spot on, Coach! Analytics inform, but gut and game feel decide. #Titans

Analytics don’t replace coaching. They just expose bad decisions faster.

Spot on, Coach

@PressManLive I loved this answer so much....

Ok great response

Titans are cooked.

analytics don’t tell you if Simmons is wrecking a backup guard

Smart man

IFB lets connect
