- AssetHub officially launched - Using Metahuman Component as parts system in UEFN This is crazy! Just discovered I can use the Metahuman Component in UEFN as a general parts system! Perfect for modular characters. So I had to test it out. First step: character design. With GPT Image... 2 I got some really solid characters to work with. These are perfect to test anime/ lowpoly models as well. Gavin Harvey also officially launched so I jumped on a fresh workflow to build the first one. Since I’m aiming for an anime/flat shaded style, I chose Tripo P1 to generate straight to low poly models. Results were perfect for me, UV and textured directly done. Did the main assembly in Blender. I transferred weights onto the new parts (like the jacket here) and used proportional editing to tweak vertices so everything fits together nicely. Then into UEFN / Unreal Engine: For the two-tone shadow look, I made a material that uses the sun direction as a mask. To make all the modular parts work together, I set up a blueprint with the body skeletal mesh as the base, and all the other parts attached as children. Now the really cool part: the Metahuman Component actually lets you plug in extra body parts directly. And every skeletal mesh can have its own Control Rig slot. That means you can layer procedural animations on top of your main animation setup. I used it for procedural eye blinking and hair physics. Since every part is separate, swapping variations is super easy while keeping all animations perfectly synced!show more

I tried to split some tasks up. After Tripo generated the quad mesh, I did a manual unwrap in Blender to give important parts bigger UV space. That definitely helped with the perceived texture sharpness. Auto-textured the mesh with Trellis2 in ComfyUI. Interesting to see all steps involved. For my workflow in UEFN I need good 2K textures so unwrapping is still important. Gonna test other platforms soon. Current imported mesh into UEFN has 15K triangles.

When I saw the mask "Tribes of the Calf" from Kanbas I knew I had to make it into reality. The jewelry and gold really made it stand out for me. Since Sam Spratt's The Masquerade was revealed, I have been spending time sculpting and dissecting the mask to recreate it in 3D as faithfully as possible. I delved into the creation of this mask for many reasons. I love a good challenge and this mask surely was one for me. Creating something in 3D from a 2D image is not easy, and especially when the source has generative nature, some stuff is hard to interpret, but I tried my best to make sure the visual integrity of the mask is as close to the original as possible. Splitting the whole mask into parts, filling the missing pieces so I can build the textures was quite a lot of work. I tried to present the mask in my own style with a slightly different colorway to adapt to the mask itself. Please enjoy this short animation, and turn on sound🔊 This piece is my statement that I am here to stay. That I have a voice that often feels being lost in the void. That I have been creating and posting digital art for over 20 years now and will continue until I'm gone. I have a story to tell and I want to be heard. The space we have here is small, and is shrinking day by day. It doesn't have to be like that. We need to support each other and push ourselves and people here, otherwise we are all doomed. As Kanbas has put in their observation of the mask: "Inspirational. Emotional. Natural." This is what our space can be, and this is me making a statement with this homage. I will share a 4k still below as well as a short video showing the 3D GLB interactive model together with a yt link to the 4k video since compression here is pretty bad.

Tested this concepting workflow. ▶️ Converting a level design image to a 3D asset gallery image ▶️ re-generating segmented subjects into separate high quality images. ▶️ using these images to generate the 3D meshes. First time using 'for loops' in ComfyUI, works great and the prompts are updated for every segment. I used the Nano Banana 2 API node in ComfyUI to generate the final high quality images. Those SAM3 nodes are crazy btw, just set some points and it creates a mask! For the 3D model generation I used the new Tripo Smart Mesh tool, which is fast! The output is not perfect yet. I think in a lot of cases not production ready right now but that depends on the input image and the goal as well. For pre-production / concepting phase it's perfect and for far distance meshes it’s fine. I’m sure these tools keep improving, curious what we can work with in 3-6 months. Minimal cleanup and scaling in Blender and tested the meshes in UEFN / Unreal Engine. After creating the ComfyUI workflow it took less than an hour to do everything.

✨ I made a little demo of #vibejam sponsor Tripo and how you can use it to generate assets for your games In this case I'm generating an apartment flat that's half destroyed and open for my drone sim to fly around, take cover and shoot at enemies from First I write the prompt and select Nano Banana to generate an image first, I get a few different ones, and I select the one I like Then that one is converted into a 3d object called a Smart Mesh Smart Mesh is different than regular image-to-3d models because usually you get issues with uneven polygon distribution, too dense geometry and poor edge flow, so while you think you save time with generating it with AI you end up doing lots of editing after to fix the topology which kinda defeats the point Smart Mesh doesn't have any of this, it's fast and clean low-poly models you can drop into your game Anyway, after generating the model I can then see it in 3d, and if I don't like it, regenerate it, or if I like it start texturing it Once that's done, I export it as a GLB, FBX or OBJ and drop it in (usually I use GLB as ThreeJS seems to prefer that), in my case I just drop the URL into Cursor and let it figure out the placement of the asset into my game!

In this experiment I wanted to try something with facial expressions and have it work with native Unreal Engine tools. I did find that generating the head with an open mouth helped to get some extra details. Creating those blend shapes was still not easy and this result is far from perfect. Ideally i want 58 generated expression references and have AI figure that out haha. btw first time baking the high poly details onto the low poly generated character. That worked surprisingly well! Endresult has 34k triangles! Built this character in 4 separate parts in Blender and generated each part in Hunyuan 3D Studio. The original references came from Nano Banana 2 and Grok. Trellis 2 in ComfyUI for the texturing. The animation was done with Control Rig in UEFN / Unreal Engine. With all the experiments so far, file and version management start to become a challenge. Getting files from different platforms with each platform having their own filename logic. I’ll have to find something to keep it more organized. Any suggestions?

Currently testing Hunyuan brand new 2.5 model for image to 3D. YUP! It's MAJOR improvement over 2.0, especially with making details look sharper, it can also reconstruct more detail. It also generates PBR materials now and you can automatically rig the character on the website. It's much better than Trellis and Tripo from my testing! Took it into Blender as well to compare Hunyuan 2.5 (on the left) and Hunyuan 2.0 (on the right). I wanted to see the mesh with a solid and material preview. If you're doing 3D printing, these would probably work very well. However...the biggest issue here is still topology which is a complete and utter mess, there's also still issues with texture projection...and the entire model is a single mesh, there needs to be a method to generate the model in parts BUT this tech is certainly improving. As someone that is also a 3D artist, I actually want to see what this tech is capable of generating to output 3D models.

Firstly, my work isn’t AI GENERATED PROMPT. The reason why I privated my account was because I was busy yesterday and couldn’t explain things. Fonts that I used: • For the “HAMKU” I used PECKHAM PRESS, I rasterized the letters a bit to achieve a close font from the official account. • For the texts I used CHANTAL medium in lower case. • For my username I used CHALKDUSTER. Brushes that I used: • Studio Pen • HB Pencil (for sketching) • Shale Brush For the colors I won’t list it, kindly check the third photo to see the palettes. I have to admit that I get lazy to use it and even lost in the palettes, so I mainly use the eyedropper tool. Here is the original version, as you can see my original version is so low quality, the lines are too pixelated and not clean—that is why I chose to post the ai enhanced version. Since I used ai to enhanced the lines of my original work, it definitely generated a new version which I still decided to post as the lines are cleaner. I really don’t know the way around on procreate. If you have suggestions on how to avoid the pixelated lines on procreate, kindly please tell me. They each have their own journey and their own story. Our goals is to make viewers fall in love with the characters and I think on that point, we succeeded with Gap The Series because everyone seemed to enjoy it. So I didn’t feel like I needed to learn anything new, I just needed to do some homework on a few parts, but for everything else, I just let it flow.

They each have their own journey and their own story. Our goals is to make viewers fall in love with the characters and I think on that point, we succeeded with Gap The Series because everyone seemed to enjoy it. So I didn’t feel like I needed to learn anything new, I just needed to do some homework on a few parts, but for everything else, I just let it flow.

#mewnich #beonnnie MEWNICH : Let's talk about EmiBonnie. This year, I feel like... oh, this year, I got to be in the same songs as Bonnie A LOT! Both the vocal songs, the uke stage, and also Genie. So I feel like I've become much closer to Bonnie. I don't know if Bonnie also feels closer to me too, but I definitely feel a lot closer to her. And honestly, like, as many people already know, during the time we were practicing for the BB concert, Bonnie had so much work. Work was just piling up on her heavily, and she was in so many dance units, she was in Meri too. So... everyone was trying to help Bonnie as much as we could. MEWNICH : For example, in the uke song, I memorized her parts for her. Like, I literally guided her through the movements. Meaning, "It's okay, come with me, I'll tell you what to do. I'll guide you and point out where you need to go for the next part, Bonnie" Because I felt like I wanted to help her as much as possible. She might not have had as much time as the others, but she had to survive and make it through this with us. And luckily, in that uke song, she was standing next to me quite often, right? So I told the choreographers, "It's okay, Teacher. You can continue with the choreo and the blocking. I'll help memorize Bonnie's parts." So the moment she arrived, I could guide her through the steps right away, and I would constantly keep telling her what to do. Honestly, I'm really glad that I could be a part of helping Bonnie get through this show. And we've gotten to talk to each other so much more.

"you’re very good at storytelling these memories.” lando: “really?” “yeah i remember at the FIA awards when you were looking at the trophy and you were like 'this, this means everything to me'.” lando: “yeah of course! i want to remember all the good times. everything in life is about creating memories and trying to hang on to as many as you can. that was a very special one for me so i enjoyed that. and that's what i get reminded of every time i come here. of course i want to repeat it as often as i can”

Hi, I’m Keats. A few years ago, I created a Tik Tok series about the planets that quickly gained recognition. I accepted the challenge of acting as ALL the planetary characters, making them as unique and distinctive as possible. Doing over 20 parts in one bedroom, I became unamused/bored.
