how to evolve generative art 🦠✨👇 over the past weeks I built this toy 'proof-of-concept' example to explore and better understand how open-form generative art works, and discover some of the new archetypes it enables. In open-form genart each mint at the root of a project can define its own lineage: properties, traits, and characteristics that carry over to new editions evolved from it. For example, in this demo, the first parent defines the color palette that's used for the pixel pattern — these colors are then inherited by subsequent evolutions (with a random chance to alter a color or introduce a new one). But that's just scratching the tip of the iceberg — the REALLY COOL thing is that the root mint also specifies the rules that define how the pixel pattern morphs and changes over the course of its lineage! Meaning that each branch in this collection is its own unconstrained system, that evolves, and is explored by minting and evolving new editions. in this setting collectors play a huge role to explore the parametric space of the project ✨ on fxhash the UI will be much cleaner and more intuitive 🫧

This is how ALOHA's "teleoperation" system works - a fancy word for "remote control". Training robots will be more and more like playing games in the physical world. A human operates a "joystick++" to perform tasks and collect data, or intervene if there's any safety concern. There's actually a learning curve to master the controller, much like practicing gaming skills. Teleoperation can be done in many different ways. ALOHA is an impressive custom-built system with very low cost. Here're a few alternatives: (1) Motion Capture (MoCap): apply the MoCap systems used for Hollywood movies to capture the fine-grained motions of hand joints. There would be no "embodiment gap" if the robot hand has 5 fingers. For instance, a demonstrator can wear a CyberGlove ( and manipulate the objects. CyberGlove will capture the motion signals & haptic feedback in real-time, which can be re-targeted onto the humanoid. (2) Wearing gloves & markers can be clumsy. An alternative way to do MoCap is through computer vision. DexPilot from NVIDIA enables marker-less and glove-free data collection. The human operator simply uses their bare hands to perform the tasks. 4 Intel RealSense depth cameras and 2 NVIDIA Titan XP GPUs (yeah, 2019 work) translate the pixels to precise motion signals for robot learning. (3) VR Headset: turn the training room into a VR game and "role play" the robot. This has the advantage of scalable remote data collection - annotators from around the world can contribute without coming onsite. ** SEGA GENESIS - LUFTHOHEIT - Tunnel Stage Preview ** We are pleased to show an early preview of part of our Tunnel/ Vortex Stage. Big shout out to Carsten666 for his gorgeous Graphics, CYBERDEOUS - Crouzet Laurent for the amazingly well matched Audio to this level, Stephane for creating SGDK in the first place and being very supportive with new features in SGDK also. Technically this stage was a bit of a challenge, some notes below re this. To drive the rolling texture of the background - 40 horizontal interrupts are used, executing 120 scanlines of color change, changing 5 colors per line = 600 color changes per frame. Variable spaced interrupts are used for expansion / compression effect. Four stages of brightness used for every texture / pattern , darkest in the center of screen , brightest top & bottom. New colors created by alternating two similar colors at 60 hz, for seams between brightness regions to increase the blending between regions. Co-operative Multi-threading system used to reclaim huge amounts of CPU within the color change interrupts. For example all rolling Cannon & Cannon bullets and Debris are moved using this technique - up to 25% of total CPU can be reclaimed ( its normally wasted polling for rhs/hblank ). Heatseeking missiles, these need trajectory's recalculated frequently and doing that at speed can be tricky - lots of missiles launched at Mid video and its the heaviest CPU load in the demo ( these are not using the Multi-threading technique yet ). Variable rate collision checking, as bullets gets very close to player the checking is done at 60 fps, as they get further away the checking drops off rapidly - this saves cpu. Runs 60 FPS at all times, works on real HW also but captured on emulator as my phone doesnt take 60hz video without getting out of sync. Intro & Foreground effects are coming, currently no foreground is present as its not quite baked enough yet, we have some cool things we will do with the extra plane yet. I really don’t understand the motive behind this petition by the losing candidate in the Kawempe North by-election, Faridah Nambi. Let’s say she prevails, court can’t declare her winner. They’ll order for a fresh election which will most likely happen in July and will certainly result in more deaths and suffering of innocent people she claims to love and wanna represent. Despite the violence, she will lose coz historically, Kawempe North is National Unity Platform’s version of Nyabushozi County, Kiruhura District. The last NRM person to win in Kawempe was Al-Hajj Meddie Ssozi Kaggwa (RIP), more than 20 years ago. The trends are much worse for them now. Does she wanna see more bloodshed for the one in a million chance that she wins and goes to Parliament of Uganda for all of 8 weeks before a new election happens in early 2026? Also, it’s not like her win changes the fortunes of her party in parliament. They’re so dominant as to be a one party affair anyways. The opposition in there is largely ceremonial; occasional noise makers who ultimately fall in line when it comes to sharing taxpayer cash. Does this lady really care about the people of Kawempe North or is this a case of soothing her ego at the expense of more lives? She states herself, in a half-arsed apology to the beaten journalists that she wasn’t in control of the violence. Will this change during the repeat election? Also, I wouldn’t be shocked to discover that her lawyers are claiming violence is one of the reasons she lost and the election should be annulled. She seems to have a shameless disregard for human life. Why not save the people this drama and bloodshed and just go prepare for 2026? One of my all-time favourite games is the original Civilization from 1991. The number of hours I spent playing it is way too high, but the memories are all worth it. At some point, I set myself challenges, for example playing on the highest difficulty against the maximum number of opponents, and limiting my tech choices. Right at the start, the options "Horseback Riding" and "The Wheel" are dead-end choices. It doesn't make them obsolete (Horseback Riding will get you to Chivalry – but the road ends there… and The Wheel will eventually come into play when you research Engineering), but obviously there are much better choices at the start such as "Alphabet", "Masonry", and "Pottery" (though a dead-end tech, you still need it for Granaries). My #1 goal was usually to get to the wonders of Darwin's Voyage (2 tech advances, incredible value) and J.S. Bach's Cathedral (reducing the number of unhappy citizens in your cities by 2, also incredible value). The little animation below shows my standard tech-tree path towards both those goals. What made Civilization so incredibly wonderful and gave it such a high level of replayability was the optionality. Apart from setting planet size and conditions, you could adjust difficulty levels and then also handicap yourself through deliberate self-imposed limitations, just to see what would happen and if you could still win. Man, I love this game. What were your first two or three tech choices and what wonders did you aim for early on?

For several days now, the Romanian people have been in the streets, demanding that their constitutional rights be respected and reinstated! For this reason, I recommend that all Romanians file a criminal complaint for the fraudulent manipulation of the elections in Romania based on the following considerations: Alfred Simonis (one of the leaders of the Social Democratic Party) and Marcel Ciolacu (the president of the Social Democratic Party and the illegitimate Prime Minister of Romania) have confessed on TikTok regarding the diversion of government funds! They confirmed what we all suspected, namely that the PSD (Social Democratic Party) voted for G. Simion (Ciolacu’s rival and the president of the AUR party) through their party electorate, intending to send him to the second round of the elections. They erroneously believed that if in the second round, Ciolacu and a sovereigntist candidate would face off, the people would choose Ciolacu. The people turned their calculations upside down, being, as always, much smarter than the politicians. Furthermore, just a few weeks ago, ANAF (The National Agency for Fiscal Administration of Romania) found that PNL (The National Liberal Party) invested money in image campaigns meant to manipulate voters’ intent, paying for TikTok campaigns for other candidates, NOT for their own party’s candidate (Ciucă), as was legally required! PSD-PNL used the party subsidy allocated from Romania’s budget (almost 54 million euros) to manipulate the elections in Romania by promoting other candidates, but NOT those of their own parties. I repeat! I recommend that Romanians file a criminal complaint for the fraudulent manipulation of the elections in Romania, for the diversion of government funds, and for continuous fraud! As the Elected President of Romania, I inform the following institutions: The Parliament of Romania is obligated to immediately cancel the DICTATORIAL mandate of Klaus Iohannis, this architect of democratic chaos in the entire free world! The General Prosecutor’s Office has the duty to investigate the fraudulent manipulation of the elections by the Social Democratic Party, the National Liberal Party, Klaus Iohannis, and the Constitutional Court. The Ombudsman (People's Advocate) has the obligation to intervene urgently in restoring the rule of law by all means at their disposal or to resign if they cannot represent the people in accordance with their FUNDAMENTAL rights. The self-proclaimed “Ciolacu2” government is illegal, illegitimate, and immoral, just like Klaus Iohannis. I can assure you that from my first days in office, this political pack that tears apart democracy and the rights of the Romanian People will be DISMANTLED!

They erroneously believed that if in the second round, Ciolacu and a sovereigntist candidate would face off, the people would choose Ciolacu. The people turned their calculations upside down, being, as always, much smarter than the politicians. Furthermore, just a few weeks ago, ANAF (The National Agency for Fiscal Administration of Romania) found that PNL (The National Liberal Party) invested money in image campaigns meant to manipulate voters’ intent, paying for TikTok campaigns for other candidates, NOT for their own party’s candidate (Ciucă), as was legally required! PSD-PNL used the party subsidy allocated from Romania’s budget (almost 54 million euros) to manipulate the elections in Romania by promoting other candidates, but NOT those of their own parties. I repeat! I recommend that Romanians file a criminal complaint for the fraudulent manipulation of the elections in Romania, for the diversion of government funds, and for continuous fraud! As the Elected President of Romania, I inform the following institutions: The Parliament of Romania is obligated to immediately cancel the DICTATORIAL mandate of Klaus Iohannis, this architect of democratic chaos in the entire free world! The General Prosecutor’s Office has the duty to investigate the fraudulent manipulation of the elections by the Social Democratic Party, the National Liberal Party, Klaus Iohannis, and the Constitutional Court. The Ombudsman (People's Advocate) has the obligation to intervene urgently in restoring the rule of law by all means at their disposal or to resign if they cannot represent the people in accordance with their FUNDAMENTAL rights. The self-proclaimed “Ciolacu2” government is illegal, illegitimate, and immoral, just like Klaus Iohannis. I can assure you that from my first days in office, this political pack that tears apart democracy and the rights of the Romanian People will be DISMANTLED!

Strengthening Tribal Communities with CSR Initiatives... Delighted to be a part of 'CSR for Change: Accelerating Scheduled Tribes Development through CSR Partnership', initiated by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). In Maharashtra, approximately 9.5% of the population belongs to tribal communities, contributing to the state's rich cultural heritage and well-developed society. Both the State and Central Governments are continuously working towards their progress and development, with a strong focus on education, healthcare, nutrition, and livelihood. Stunting and wasting remain significant concerns among tribal populations. We are actively addressing these challenges through sustained efforts aimed at improving nutrition, healthcare, and overall well-being. Additionally, we are strengthening the education system to facilitate better learning opportunities and uplift these communities. CSR plays a crucial role in introducing flexibility, leveraging technology, and bridging gaps in government initiatives. In Maharashtra, CSR contributions have made a remarkable and lasting impact on tribal communities. Together, we can drive meaningful change in healthcare, nutrition, and education. Notably, Maharashtra receives the highest share of CSR funding, reflecting strong collaboration and commitment. We deeply value our partnership with the United Nations Development Program. The government remains committed to supporting and enhancing these impactful collaborations, standing shoulder to shoulder with our partners to uplift every community and ensure a brighter future for all.
