We have substantially completed the reconstruction of Tam Balogun Road in Ijebu-Ode, with all major asphalt works now finished under our administration’s ongoing drive to strengthen road infrastructure across Ogun State. The project is currently at about 98% completion, with only lane markings left to be carried out. With both the binder and final wearing courses in place, the road is fully motorable and already improving movement, safety, and travel time for residents and road users. This is one of several strategic road projects we are delivering to ease transportation, support local economic activities, and make daily commuting smoother for our people, as we continue to build a better and more connected Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #RoadInfrastructure #DapoAbiodun

We have successfully completed Phases One and Two of the project, covering Sagamu to Iperu, and both sections are already in full use by motorists. Phase Three, which is currently in full execution, includes the dualisation of the existing road, milling of the old asphalt, installation of essential highway furniture, and the wearing-course overlay from chainage 0+00 (Ode Remo) to kilometre 5+500 (Sapade). This phase also covers an additional 200-metre link connecting the Ibadan Expressway to the Sapade–Ode corridor, bringing the entire stretch to a total of 5.5 kilometres. Governor Dapo Abiodun explained that the reconstruction was initiated to address the long-standing challenges faced by motorists and residents along the route, particularly around the Igele Bridge area which had for years slowed movement and affected economic activities. According to the governor, the road project has been substantially completed, with lane markings remaining as the final stage before full completion. Once finished, the road will improve connectivity between communities in Ogun Waterside, support the transportation of agricultural produce, and provide easier access to nearby towns and markets. He added that the Gao Junction Ibiade Road project reflects the administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure across all parts of the state while boosting economic growth and improving the lives of residents. The completion of Gao Junction Ibiade Road is expected to bring lasting relief to commuters and stimulate development in the surrounding communities.

The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. Our administration remains resolute in its commitment to providing quality infrastructure that enhances economic growth, facilitates ease of movement, and improves the daily lives of our people.
