The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. From our latest assessment, binder-asphalt laying is moving smoothly from chainage 3+600 up to the Sapade Junction on both carriageways. On the other side of the corridor, our engineers are regrading and compacting the stone base in readiness for priming ahead of asphalt placement. We have successfully completed Phases One and Two of the project, covering Sagamu to Iperu, and both sections are already in full use by motorists. Phase Three, which is currently in full execution, includes the dualisation of the existing road, milling of the old asphalt, installation of essential highway furniture, and the wearing-course overlay from chainage 0+00 (Ode Remo) to kilometre 5+500 (Sapade). This phase also covers an additional 200-metre link connecting the Ibadan Expressway to the Sapade–Ode corridor, bringing the entire stretch to a total of 5.5 kilometres. By God’s grace, we remain on course to complete and hand over this entire section before Christmas 2025. ODE–SAPADE ROAD PHASE 3 NEARS COMPLETION We are pleased to announce that reconstruction works on the Ode–Sapade Road have reached an advanced stage, with Phase Three of the project now nearing completion. Major asphalt works have been delivered across most sections, and the road is visibly taking its final shape as only limited finishing activities remain. Phases One and Two, covering the Sagamu–Iperu axis, were earlier completed and opened to traffic. Phase Three covers the Ode Remo to Sapade stretch and involves full rehabilitation and dualisation of the corridor, including the removal of the old pavement, laying of new asphalt on both carriageways, and the construction of a 200-metre link connecting the road to the Ibadan Expressway, bringing the total length to 5.5 kilometres. We sincerely appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents and road users throughout this period. ODE–SAPADE ROAD PHASE 3 NEARS COMPLETION We are pleased to announce that reconstruction works on the Ode–Sapade Road have reached an advanced stage, with Phase Three of the project now nearing completion. Major asphalt works have been delivered across most sections, and the road is visibly taking its final shape as only limited finishing activities remain. Phases One and Two, covering the Sagamu–Iperu axis, were earlier completed and opened to traffic. Phase Three covers the Ode Remo to Sapade stretch and involves full rehabilitation and dualisation of the corridor, including the removal of the old pavement, laying of new asphalt on both carriageways, and the construction of a 200-metre link connecting the road to the Ibadan Expressway, bringing the total length to 5.5 kilometres. We sincerely appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents and road users throughout this period. Ongoing asphalt laying is currently underway at Itori, along the Abeokuta–Sango Ota Road, as part of our continuous reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts aimed at enhancing the major transport corridor that links Ogun Central to the industrial hub of Sango Ota and also Lagos State. Although this is a federal road, the project being executed by the Ogun State Government, underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that facilitates mobility, stimulates economic growth, and ensures a smoother commuting experience for motorists and residents within the corridor. We are almost done laying asphalt along the Alagbole-Ajuwon road in Ifo Local Government Area after decades of neglect. This is in line with our promise to ensure that deplorable roads are attended to across the state. Just like other road projects we have completed, our approach prioritizes the welfare of our people. We ensure that all our inner-road construction is carried out thoughtfully, with minimal disruption to physical properties and businesses. As much as possible, we avoid unnecessary demolitions, recognizing the socio-economic impact of such actions on our citizens.
