Been quietly building Aaru's new design system and porting it into code over the past week. Components built on Base UI, one at a time, all living in our own custom "storybook". Started with the Figma tokens, ended up fine-tuning everything in code, as colours and type just render differently in the browser. Now testing patterns and moving into layouts. Honestly the biggest unlock for design handover I've had in years. Next up: documenting each component's usage for agent use. Recommendations welcome.

Pre-existing or AI-generated assets for graphics. --- Here's how to make the game in only 6 steps: (1): Enter the following prompt: "write p5.js code for Flappy Bird where you control a yellow bird continuously flying between a series of green pipes. GPT-5.6 Luna is in it, the same model we just moved to when the OpenCode sub got cut, and Grok 4.5 sits in there too next to DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM and MiniMax. Their own docs say the $1 tier has no API access. It's in our picker anyway. So there's a dollar sub in there next to everything else now. Next time a limit hits mid loop we grab it and keep going.

Presented by Sid Bidasaria, Member of Technical Staff at Anthropic live at Code with Claude on May 22, 2025 in San Francisco. Here is what the talk covers. Even if AI will write 90% of code. But it won’t replace engineers. Windsurf’s founder explains that even if AI generates most of the code, engineers still spend time reviewing it, debugging issues, designing systems, testing, deploying, and making architectural decisions. Those parts don’t disappear. He brings up Amdahl’s Law to make the point: speeding up one part of the workflow doesn’t dramatically change the total time unless everything else speeds up too. For example, if writing code takes 30 out of 100 total time units, and AI brings it down to 3, the total time still only drops to 73. That’s just a 27% improvement. More productivity doesn’t mean fewer engineers. It just increases the ROI of building tech. And when ROI goes up, companies are more likely to build—and hire more people to do it. Take JPMorgan Chase. They have 50,000+ engineers and a $17B software budget. If each engineer can ship more software, that doesn’t reduce headcount. It raises the cost of not building. Companies like Windsurf and Anthropic are hiring more engineers—not less—despite being at the edge of AI code generation.

An Italian American police officer in our community is under attack and needs our support. Sal Oldrati defended his own life at a crime scene in 2021 when he encountered a man with a “prop” gun. He was cleared of any wrong doing at the time as there is ZERO way any law enforcement officer could tell the difference in that split second. designing my new personal site with connected it to Claude Code and turned on "Swarm Mode" and watched agents design my site in real-time, with their cursors actually moving and operating the screen, not just cosmetically! instead of the agents producing a raw HTML file, they generate something called .pen which is just a json file describing all layouts, components, and design. this means that it's easier than ever to have teams collaborate on design exactly as they do on source code (designers and engineers can now speak the same language!) once you are happy with a screen, you can open a new chat and reference .pen frame and start to generate the code (in React/ Next/ Tailwind etc), and run it on your dev server, producing a live website that visually matches your design
