Atheists, if prayer doesn’t work, explain this…

Also explain how my pastor's friend had advanced lung cancer that disappeared without a trace after my pastor & friends laid their hands on him in prayer. My pastor said he felt an intense heat pass through his hand. Doctors were baffled how cancer could just disappear.

The question, "Does prayer work?", is loaded, depending on level of understanding of the asker. Those with Little to No understanding are really asking, "Does God always give you what you pray for?" Those WITH understanding ask, "Does your prayer align with God's will?" Isaiah 55:9 - For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. God hears all prayers, and His answers are Yes, No, and Not yet. It's up to us to have enough faith in his wisdom, to not become petulant children when we don't get our way.

Athiest response: It just happens that way sometimes. Just because we can't explain it doesn't mean it's God working. Especially if it looks exactly like God working. I didn't see it happen again in a clinical setting with double-blind peer review so it can't be confirmed.

I think one case of someone having improved symptoms that coincide with prayer out of billions of cases doesn’t prove anything.
