Aurora isn't just beautiful, it also impacts radio communications! Looking at HF/VHF propagation during the peak of the recent G4 #solarstorm, we can see #auroral propagation occurs quite far south even during the daylight hours in Europe and the USA.

Official NOAA prediction shows the main four of TEN #solarstorms on their way to Earth. At this point, I can see them upping expectations to G4-level by July 31. #Aurora deep to mid-latitudes with this extended storming. #GPS, #PrecisionAG farmers & HF/VHF #radio operators expect degraded performance starting July 30.

Heard that even Abhijeet Dipke now shows up at the protest only during the evening peak hours or around breakfast and lunch time. The rest of the day, it's just these unemployed guys sitting at the CJP protest. This is what the protest looked like this morning. Everyone went back home at night. They'll probably return only during peak hours... or when it's time to eat. 🤣

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Halloween Solar Storms of 2003. This was a period of exceptional high solar activity during Solar Cycle 23 including the strongest solar flare recorded in modern history peaking between X28 and X45. There were also many earth-directed coronal mass ejections which caused multiple G5 geomagnetic storms. Aurora displays were visible as far south as Texas in the USA and Spain in Europe. 10 year ago we made a YouTube special about these events. Well worth a look if you haven't seen it yet!

Once the Earth magnetic field diminishes with the ongoing Geomagnetic Excursion, the aurora will be visible even in the Mediterranean. It's a beautiful sighting, but that means the solar storms and the cosmic radiation will cause chaos on the planet, just like during the Laschamp Event and the extinction of the Neanderthals. The newest studies show that the Geomagnetic Excursion was one of the triggers for the abrupt climate change 42,000 years ago. But we have more recent examples of the same thing happening with the Younger Dryas and the Gothenburg Geomagnetic Excursion, the 5.9-kiloyear event and the Solovki Geomagnetic Excursion, and even 3,000 years ago during the Bronze Age Collapse and the Sterno-Etrussia Geomagnetic Excursion. We are in the same process today.
