Baier: She never finished her residency and doesn't currently have an active medical license. RFK JR: She was top of her medical class at Stanford. During her residency, she won every award that she can win. She walked away from traditional medicine because she was not curing patients

If a person can’t issue a valid legal prescription to a patient, they can’t be the surgeon general. Whoever it is has to be an actual doctor. Not somebody that plays a doctor on TV, etc.

Dr. Janette Nesheiwat completed her residency at UAMS (2006-2009) and holds active medical licenses in NY and CA, contradicting claims she didn't finish residency or lacks a license. She attended the American University of the Caribbean, not Stanford, and there's no evidence she was top of her class or won "every award" during residency. She focuses on preventive care but still practices traditional medicine, partially aligning with claims she moved away from it. Her nomination was withdrawn amid credential scrutiny.

NOW: RFK Jr. defends Casey Means as pick for surgeon general—calls her “the best person to really bring the vision of MAHA to the American public.” Asked about President Trump’s decision to name Dr. Casey Means the next Surgeon General, RFK Jr. delivered a full-throated defense. “Casey Means, we felt was the best person to really bring the vision of MAHA to the American public.” Kennedy praised her ability to inspire and lead the MAHA movement. “She has this unique capacity to articulate it. She's written a book that really mobilized, galvanized the movement.” “She, is an extraordinary—she is excellence in everything that she's ever endeavored.” Fox News’ Bret Baier raised concerns: “Obviously she's come under her own criticism about, some of the things she's advocated for. She never finished a residency, and she doesn't currently have an active medical license.” Kennedy fired back: “She was the top—the very top—of her medical class at Stanford.” Then he explained why she walked away from the system. “She walked away from traditional medicine because she was not curing patients. She couldn't get anybody within her profession to look at the nutrition, contributions to illness.” “And she said, if we're really going to heal people, if we're healers, we can't just be making our life about billing new procedures.” Kennedy said that outsider mindset is exactly what America needs now. “We actually have to figure out new approaches to medicine, and that's the kind of leadership that she's going to bring to our country.”
