Former Supreme Court judge Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia speaks up on bail denial to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. "I am disappointed with the judgement (bail denial to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam). Supreme Court has misinterpreted K.A. Najeeb's case. In the K.A. Najeeb case, Supreme Court granted him bail considering that there are over 200 witnesses and there is no possibility of completion of trial in the near future. So, the possibility of completion of trial has to be considered along with the period of incarceration. In this case, there are 900 witnesses. But this part has not been touched upon by the Supreme Court."

Dear Saurav Das, Taking a stance on Umar Khalid is a problem for Kejriwal and the rest of AAP, because they won't even take a stance on Bilkis Bano. That's their politics. It doesn't have to be yours. A politics of principle, ethics and ideology doesn't bend to viewership. If you want to be a leader, learn to lead in thought, not just in presence. Umar was a student leader too, just a few years before you. In a democracy, his freedom should never be up for negotiation. That's the basic ABC of it. His name, "Umar Khalid," shouldn't become a stigma for you simply because it's a Muslim name. If anything, standing with him is what lets you break free of the IAC tag and its history with the Sangh.
