Holy CRAP! jnmartin gave me access to his private Sonic R decompilation repo, which will serve as the basis for the Sega Dreamcast port. I was able to build Sonic R NATIVELY for my x86_64 desktop, running Ubuntu 24.04, and immediately begin playing after just typing "make" and then passing the binary the location of my ripped (yet legally purchased) PC assets. ...but while he's at it, jnmartin has decided to make the base decompilation codebase platform-independent, so this should theoretically work on any platform that supports SDL2 and very basic OpenGL--no shaders required--with very low system requirements. jnmartin already has it running fine on the latest MacOS version on Apple silicon, and now we can confirm it works fine on Debian Linux distros, no problem. Next up we'll test for Windows. Oh, and by the way, to everyone freaking out over the fact that the decomp is starting from the PC version and not the Saturn version, lamenting the less vibrant coloring... Your voices have been heard! CHECK IT OUT NOW!!! ...just imagine 4p netplay between Windows, Mac, Linux, and the Sega Dreamcast! 🤯

Am I the only one who thought it was interesting when Andy basically told Jesse, If your girlfriend was here, I would stick a mic on her and get her on the reunion stage… because that’s how it works. Is it how it works though? Because as far as I know, you still need someone’s consent and for them to sign a release before they can be filmed or appear on camera. Yes, I get that Jesse’s girlfriend showed up to a group event, and no, I’m not defending her (we don’t even know her), but let’s be real: how many girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, or friends have shown up to filmed events or reunions and not been forced to film/or answer questions? Sometimes It just feels like Andy is a little extra tough on Bravo shows that aren’t the high-rated Housewives franchises. The tone can be different… more harsh when it’s not one of the network’s most prized shows. If this is how Andy wants it to be, he needs to be consistent across all Bravo shows. #TheValley

I started this as a 17-year-old trying to understand what causes this brutal disease, Now I am up against the largest companies in the food and pharmaceutical industry, trying to save my generation from the same chronic diseases that plagued our parents and loved ones. I'm grateful for my school Alpha School, which gave me the pathway to get here, and for X, which gave me the platform to speak about my research and find an incredible community. “Judge Heidi Breger and Judge Amy Blake told our office that they now refuse to comply with an audit from the Office of State Auditor. Do you know what we were trying to audit? Their website accessibility for disabled persons to make sure that people could get access to records from the courts. They refused to participate in the audit, and what they did is they said Attorney General Campbell sent a letter to the legislature saying that she doesn't believe that they need to be audited. Therefore, we essentially want in on this, and we are no longer going to be audited by your office either. This is a constitutional crisis here in the state of Massachusetts. And I am now supposed to go before the courts and trust that they are going to give us a fair trial and a fair hearing on this issue. My trust and faith in the judiciary right now is at an all-time low. And I know I'm not saying differently than what a lot of people feel right now.”

Dylan on why access to the most intelligent AI models will determine who wins in every industry: "What really matters is access to the most intelligent tokens and leveraging them at the highest-value tasks. A lot of folks will want tokens, but the shitty SaaS startup in SF who is using Claude is not necessarily creating a ton of value, and therefore they're going to get priced out of tokens. Anthropic only released Mythos to certain companies for cybersecurity. You also don't want people to distill your model so you release them to a fewer and fewer customers. Those customers are now wrestling over the tokens. Token usage and therefore the additional value generated on top of those tokens aggregates among fewer and fewer companies. I don't have Mythos but you know who has Mythos, top banks. There are people like Ken Griffin of Citadel who can just sign a deal with OpenAI or Antrhopic for access to your models. I'll buy the first $10 billion worth of tokens each year. So whenever you release the model, I'll spend the first 10 billion tokens and then everyone else can get the model after that. Now, he's going to crush everyone in the markets. I can envision because I have an enterprise Anthropic contract and Anthropic people like me, they're willing to give us slightly earlier access or higher rate limits, and then my competitor doesn't have that, and I'm able to f*cking crush them."
