Jet Patcher technology is suited for repairing smaller potholes without disrupting traffic, Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said. The technology was demonstrated on the Vidhana Soudha-MS Building road as part of a Rs 2-crore pilot by Central City Corporation. The machine uses cold-mix technology to repair potholes up to 50 mm deep by cleaning the damaged area, applying bitumen and wet mix, and compacting it. Traffic can resume within about 10 minutes, reducing the need for night-time repairs. If successful, the technology will be deployed across all five city corporations. The minister said different technologies would be used based on pothole depth & road damage.

The Congress Government claims to have spent nearly ₹5,500 crore on Bengaluru’s roads in the last three years. Yet, potholes continue to dominate our streets and road conditions are only getting worse. Where has this taxpayer’s money gone? I have urged Minister Sri Krishna Byre Gowda to release a White Paper within 30 days, detailing every rupee spent on roads over the last three years, with complete road-by-road and ward-by-ward details of the works executed, contractors involved, officials in charge, and the outcomes achieved. Bengaluru deserves transparency. Taxpayers deserve accountability.

Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda strongly came down on his own government machinery and the contractor during an inspection of the ongoing Metro Phase 2B project from Nagawara to Bagalur Cross on Sunday, openly expressing his frustration over prolonged delays, poor execution, and the hardships being imposed on the public.During the inspection, the minister pulled up Metro officials and contractors for incomplete pillars, blocked roads, and footpaths filled with construction debris, which have severely affected traffic flow and pedestrian movement. He ordered the immediate clearance of waste, removal of unnecessary roadblocks, and directed officials to speed up construction work to reduce inconvenience to commuters and residents.Byre Gowda expressed shock that Metro pillars at some locations have remained incomplete for nearly two years. Questioning the lack of accountability and planning, he asked officials why a stretch of road had been shut for over a year with little visible progress. “You shut this stretch a year ago. What have you been doing all this time? Does it take one year just to complete a pile cap? Now you are saying in two months you will do magic. Where is the pillar? I can’t even see it,” he remarked sharply, taking a direct dig at the contractor. He also criticised the irrational blocking of roads, pointing out that construction activity at one location was causing road closures and traffic chaos elsewhere. “If work is happening at Hebbal, then block Hebbal. Why are you closing roads here and troubling people unnecessarily?” he asked, highlighting the lack of coordination and sensitivity towards public suffering. The minister further flagged the pathetic condition of footpaths and service roads, which were clogged with debris and construction waste, making movement extremely difficult and unsafe for pedestrians and motorists. He directed officials to clear the debris immediately and restore access for the public. Acting on his instructions, officials cleared the waste on the spot in his presence. Raising serious concerns over worsening traffic congestion in North Bengaluru, Byre Gowda pointed out that several roads had been blocked without justification, leading to daily traffic snarls and long delays for commuters. He instructed officials to remove avoidable barricades without delay and ensure smoother vehicular movement.Criticising the authorities for testing public patience, the minister stressed that prolonged and poorly managed construction work was unfairly burdening citizens who have been enduring inconvenience for years. He warned officials that delays, lack of planning, and casual execution would not be tolerated any longer, and called for strict accountability and better coordination to ensure Metro works are completed at the earliest. He подчеркed that development cannot come at the cost of endless suffering for the public, and authorities must respect the patience and time of Bengalureans #bangalore #bengaluru #bagalur #yelahanka Krishna Byre Gowda ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ BengaluruCityPolice ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruTrafficPolice alok kumar DGP KARNATAKA ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ Karnataka State Police S. Viewer Discretion is advised; Chief Superintendent Alexander Obeng, together with officials from the Road Safety team, showcased CCTV footages illustrating how road accidents occur in Ghana during an inspection visit by the Minister for Transport and the Deputy Minister. This is Varthur Main Road, Bangalore A major route used by thousands of people and school kids every day, connecting several societies in the area to Whitefield. From many years, the road has been in terrible condition with huge potholes, loose gravel, dust, broken streetlights and poor maintenance. And when it rains, it gets even worse. Water filled potholes and muddy stretches make the entire route dangerous to travel. A simple question to the Bengaluru municipality, why has a major road used by thousands every day been ignored for so long? People are dealing with traffic, dust, mud and potholes every single day and some are getting injured because of the road conditions. This needs immediate attention before the situation gets even worse.
