Bengaluru Development Minister @KrishnaByreGowda directed Municipal Commissioners to issue notices to govt departments that fail to clear waste from their premises under the 'Freedom from Waste' campaign. Between August 1 and 6, authorities cleared 10,056 metric tonnes of construction and demolition (C&D) waste from 453 locations. So far, 3,022 illegal dumping sites.containing an estimated 59,823 metric tonnes of waste have been identified. The campaign now deploys 54 tipper trucks and 18 JCBs, with more machinery to be added.

Bengaluru: Five people have been taken into police custody after a group allegedly attacked GBA officials during Safe Footpath campaign in Shivaji Nagar. Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said alleged main instigator, Basavaraj Pudukote, will be arrested soon. Police will invoke Section 307 (attempt to murder) against all those involved. The minister said the attackers were "anti-social elements" & warned that strict action would be taken against anyone assaulting public servants on duty.

Vande Bharat trains on Mangaluru-Kerala & Hubballi-Bengaluru routes were found clean. Violations included suspected unauthorised colours in jalebi & khoa peda, expired Nandini curd & Dodla milk in Haveri, unhygienic conditions at KR Pura, idlis prepared using plastic material, expired food, fungal growth on vegetables & chutney stored in unsuitable plastic buckets. Our workers will protest against potholes in BJP-ruled Hubli-Dharwad corporations and elsewhere.” He urged the public and police to report potholes for swift action.
