But now through a campaign called “Pack one for Pintu” by Robin Hood Army, riders from Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit etc have an option to place the excess food in freedges (community fridges) placed near dark stores, restaurant hotspots, corporate parks, residential societies and high footfall areas. The collected food will then be distributed to those in need. The “Pack One for Pintu” campaign will also enable food collection from domestic households. This campaign is the need of the hour since India wastes 74 million tonnes of food annually, but still over 3,000 Indian children lose their lives daily due to malnutrition.
