Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Thursday announced a special grant of Rs 2,000 crore for upgrading damaged ward roads across five city corporations under Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA). Officials have been directed to identify poor roads, prepare estimates, float short-term tenders and begin work immediately, with a target to complete projects within four to six months. The minister also reviewed Bengaluru’s garbage crisis, directing officials to strictly enforce door-to-door waste collection, mandatory wet-dry waste segregation, GPS tracking of garbage vehicles, and stronger action against littering. A special drive will clear roadside garbage, debris and weeds. About 250 shops encroaching on footpaths around Bengaluru Fort, Bowring Hospital & KR Market were cleared by Central Corporation on August 5 following a Karnataka High Court order, Karnataka Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said. $Minister warns against abuse of government vehicles Environment Minister Evelyn Ndlovu has issued a stern warning against the misuse of government vehicles, stating that those found abusing state resources will face disciplinary action. She made the remarks during the handover ceremony of more than 15 newly acquired off-road vehicles by the Environmental Management Agency (EMA) in Harare. The agency has boosted its operational capacity with the acquisition of the fleet, valued at approximately US\$500,000. The vehicles are expected to play a critical role in EMA’s daily environmental monitoring and law enforcement activities. Speaking on the sidelines of the commissioning event, EMA spokesperson Amkela Sidange said the trucks will greatly enhance field operations across the country, although additional resources are still needed to fully meet operational demands.$

Ayanda Thabethe recently married Peter Matsimbe in 2025. Peter Matsimbe currently has a fraud case involving 9 new luxury vehicles, and 1 new truck. All vehicles are to the value of R13 million. Matsimbe used fake bank statements, fake company financial statements, and a fake South African ID to secure finance for all the vehicles. The bank found out, opened a criminal case, and got a court order for Matsimbe to return all 10 vehicles. However, only 2 vehicles were recovered, and 8 are still missing to this day. Investigators suspect that his businesses were not legitimate, had no direct source of income, and now he is living off the 8 vehicles that he might have sold or leased the vehicles in order maintain his lifestyle. His matter is still dragging in court. However the day his assets and accounts are frozen, the assets and accounts of Ayanda will also be frozen since they are married in Community of Property

This is a moment of reckoning for Bangaloreans. If we don't support Krishna Byre Gowda now, we will lose any last hope of revival for the city. Bangalore's old charm was about its walkable streets and giant trees dotting the roads on both sides. Today it's a dream to find such footpaths and roads. The only way to make Bengaluru Great Again is to reclaim it's public spaces that has turned into garbage den. For the first time we have a politician not just talking about it but working towards making the city livable with dignity. We all must support unconditionally...

If short flyovers don’t work, how exactly will a short tunnel work? Bengaluru Development Minister Shri Krishna Byre Gowda himself admitted that short flyovers only move congestion from one junction to another as seen at Silk Board to Ragigudda. So why is the State Government spending ₹1,139 crore of public money on a 2.2 Km tunnel at Hebbal that will funnel six lanes of traffic into the already congested Mekhri Circle. This isn't infrastructure planning. But a perfect example of shortsighted planning, contract distribution and headline management. People of Bengaluru deserve better urban planning.
