We signed a Drone Deal agreement with Denmark. This is already Ukraine’s ninth such agreement, and it is important that more and more partners are joining this format, which opens up greater opportunities for joint defense production, the exchange of expertise, and transparency in weapons exports. Together, we are building a new security architecture. I thank Denmark, and personally Mette, for this step toward strengthening our shared defense. It was with Denmark that we began joint production in Ukraine under the Danish model, and it is absolutely fair that Denmark will now have access to Ukrainian exports of weapons tested in war. Today, we also discussed with the Prime Minister Statsministeriet the strengthening of our air defense and work on European anti-ballistic defense. Ukrainians understood long ago that NATO would not close our skies. When Ukraine addresses partners, requesting air defense systems that they have in warehouses and bases but that are needed here, in Ukraine, to protect lives, we are talking about genuine allied action. We in Ukraine value the efforts of all leaders and states who are truly active, keep their promises, and work hard to improve the capabilities of our air shield. Russian terrorists have already had enough time—years—to destroy Ukrainian life. This year cannot be a year of further discussions. Everything is very specific. Ukraine needs air defense, and partners can help us with that. We need artillery, and the world has it. If you can't strike back against ballistic missiles, then people are simply killed. If we're to have ballistic missile defense so that we can protect both Ukraine and potentially our own societies, then we need cooperation across national borders. We can produce quite a lot of the capabilities we need ourselves in Nordic countries, some we can make together with our European allies, and some with allies outside Europe.

In particular, this means building sufficient air defense production capacity — both against drones and against ballistic missiles. Ukraine and Poland are preparing to host the Ukraine Recovery Conference this June. It is especially important for us that, for the first time, this annual conference will include a dedicated security and defense dimension – a key pillar of Ukraine’s recovery alongside energy, private sector development, human capital, and infrastructure reconstruction on the path to EU membership. I spoke about this at the “Road to URC” event in Rzeszów. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine’s defense industrial production capacity has increased 50-fold. Nearly half of the weapons used by our Defense Forces are produced in Ukraine. We have one of the fastest innovation cycles: from idea to active combat deployment in as little as three months. Ukrainian drones, ground and maritime systems, electronic warfare capabilities, counter-drone solutions, and new types of missiles are already changing the nature of modern warfare. The world is very interested in this experience. We are ready to expand cooperation and integrate Ukraine’s defense industry into the European space. The “Build with Ukraine” and “Build in Ukraine” initiatives create tools for developing joint ventures and localizing production both in Ukraine and in partner countries. This is a shared investment in the security of our continent. I am grateful to the Ukrainian defense manufacturers who presented their stands in Rzeszów. Ukraine is ready for defense partnership. Russia has launched another brutal attack on our Kharkiv – on a construction hypermarket, on Saturday, right in the middle of the day. As of now, it is believed that more than 200 people were in the hypermarket. Russia has launched another brutal attack on our Kharkiv – on a construction hypermarket, on Saturday, right in the middle of the day. As of now, it is believed that more than 200 people were in the hypermarket. All the emergency services are already on the site and providing assistance, rescuing people, and extinguishing the fire that has completely engulfed the building – 10,000 square meters. There are killed and injured people. If Ukraine had sufficient air defense systems and modern combat aircraft, Russian strikes like this one would have been impossible. And that is why we appeal to all leaders, to all states: we need a significant enhancement of air defense and sufficient capabilities to destroy Russian terrorists. This is a task that must be accomplished and can only be accomplished together with the world. Every day, we call on the world to provide us with air defense and to save our people.
