Росія нанесла черговий жорстокий удар по нашому Харкову – по будівельному гіпермаркету – у суботу, просто посеред дня. Станом на зараз відомо, що в гіпермаркеті могли перебувати понад 200 людей. Усі служби вже на місці надають допомогу – рятують людей і ліквідовують пожежу, яка повністю охопила приміщення, 10 тис. кв. м. Відомо про загиблих і поранених. Якби Україна мала достатньо засобів ППО та сучасної бойової авіації, такі російські удари стали б просто неможливими. І саме тому ми звертаємося до всіх лідерів, до всіх держав: нам потрібне значне посилення протиповітряної оборони і достатньо можливостей знищувати російських терористів. Завдання, яке потрібно виконати і можливо виконати тільки спільно зі світом. Щодня ми закликаємо світ: дайте нам ППО, врятуйте людей. Кожне неприйняте рішення про підтримку – це втрата наших людей.

Only insane people like Putin are capable of killing and terrorizing people in such heinous ways. We in Ukraine value the efforts of all leaders and states who are truly active, keep their promises, and work hard to improve the capabilities of our air shield. Russian terrorists have already had enough time—years—to destroy Ukrainian life. This year cannot be a year of further discussions. Everything is very specific. Yesterday’s Russian strike on Kharkiv sadly took the lives of two people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Around 30 people were wounded—all have received the necessary medical assistance. I thank our rescuers and medics who work every day for our people. Over the past week, most regions of Ukraine have come under attack: 1,310 Russian guided aerial bombs, over 1,000 attack drones—mostly "Shaheds"—and 9 missiles of various types, including ballistic ones. A significant number were successfully shot down by our air defense warriors, mobile fire groups, and all units involved in protecting our skies. Russia is dragging out the war, and we are providing our partners with full information on the strikes the Russian army is carrying out and the actions it is preparing for. Russia continues to wage war against civilians. It launched a night attack using Shahed drones on Kharkiv, Odesa, and cities in the Sumy region. One of the drones hit a residential building in Odesa, destroying 18 apartments. Currently, two deaths have been confirmed, with eight more injured, including a child. We are now conducting one of our counter-offensive operations at the Donetsk direction – in the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia areas. Russian losses just since the start of this counter-offensive – in the Pokrovsk area alone, in these past weeks – are already more than 2,500, of which over 1,300 have been killed. Ukraine is rightfully defending its positions and its land. This is a heroic defense. I am proud of our warriors. I am proud of our people. This is terror, by definition, without any disguises. The strikes harmed over thirty people across the country. As of now, five people have been reported killed. My condolences to their close ones. A significant part of our energy system is damaged. Air defense is the top priority right now. Our people here in Ukraine are responsible for the physical protection of facilities and their recovery following strikes. However, true and comprehensive protection from Russian missiles and "Shahed" drones is only possible with sufficient political will on the part of our partners. We work on it every day. Every day, we persuade partners of the importance and, more importantly, the feasibility of full protection of Ukrainian skies. Russian terror is only possible because we do not have enough modern air defense systems. Frankly, because our partners lack the political will to provide them. They all know exactly what is required and who can make life-saving decisions.

Nearly 700 aerial bombs and over 600 attack drones were used just in a week. Every week, the Russian war continues only because the Russian army retains its ability to terrorize Ukraine and exploit its superiority in the sky. That is why it is crucial for our partners to fulfill the agreements already made with us. The decisions made at the NATO summit in Washington, as well as those adopted during the Ramstein meetings regarding air defense for Ukraine, have still not been fully implemented. We have discussed with our partners, including the United States, the possibility of granting Ukraine licenses to produce air defense systems and missiles for them. There is nothing impossible about this, and it would only strengthen our shared capabilities to ensure security. This is exactly the kind of strength that makes lasting peace possible. Over 500 State Emergency Service rescuers, municipal services, energy workers, and police officers. Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. As of now, 92 people have been reported injured. They are all receiving assistance. Unfortunately, four people were killed. My condolences go out to their families and close ones. Our air defense warriors have been doing an incredible job for the past three days. Since December 31st, Russian monsters have already fired 170 “Shahed” drones and dozens of missiles of various types. The absolute majority of them targeted civilian infrastructure. I am grateful to all of our partners who are helping us strengthen our air shield. Every day and night, this helps save hundreds of lives that would have been lost if we didn't have "Patriots" and other defense systems. This year, we will continue to work with everyone around the world who values life to bolster our air shield and hold Russia accountable for everything it has done. The situation in Kharkiv is very harsh. Russian terror is constant. Russians began using guided aerial bombs against the city almost daily. We are looking for ways to increase Kharkiv's ability to protect the sky. This is a task for both our military and diplomats, who are in charge of international communication and must maintain daily dialogue with partners. Ukraine clearly lacks sufficient air defense systems, and this is evident to all of our partners. The world must finally feel the pain caused by Russian terrorists in Kharkiv, Kupyansk, Donetsk region towns, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy region, and many other Ukrainian communities. There are air defense systems around the world that can help. Only political will is required to transfer them to Ukraine. I am grateful to the countries that have already helped. Being active in completing this task is the personal responsibility of our diplomats who work in these areas and with countries that have the necessary systems. The main target for the Russians was the energy infrastructure of the Kyiv region, but unfortunately, there were also direct hits on and damage to ordinary residential buildings, schools, and civilian businesses. As of now, four people have been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Many people have been injured, and some are still seeking medical assistance. Over the course of the night, the Russians launched around 430 drones of various types and a significant number of missiles. There were 13 ballistic missiles alone, and the total number of missiles in this attack was 68. According to preliminary data, 58 of them were intercepted by our air defense system. And every such night of Russian strikes is a reminder to all our partners that air defenses and the missiles for them are effectively a daily necessity. Every agreement on missile supplies cannot wait – everything must be implemented as quickly as possible. Our agreements to increase the production of air defense missiles are a critical direction, and this direction requires one hundred percent attention. Russia will try to exploit the war in the Middle East to cause even greater destruction here in Europe, in Ukraine. This is why we must be fully aware of the real level of the threat and prepare accordingly, namely: in Europe, we need to develop the production of air defense missiles – especially those capable of countering ballistic threats – as well as all other systems necessary to truly protect lives, regardless of what may be happening in any other part of the world.
