The quick thinking allowed the Israeli passengers to storm the cockpit and subdue the terrorist, according to Reuters. An Israeli official identified the co-pilot as an Omani national. A second set of pilots on board took over and landed the plane. The pilots were due to replace the first pair after landing. The accident investigators tested the crew positive for the substances after the aircraft they flew was involved in a runway excursion at the Port Harcourt International Airport on July 13. A Frontier Airlines flight bound for LAX hit a person on the runway during takeoff from Denver International Airport on Friday. The Airbus A321 was taking off from runway 17L when it appeared to strike an individual walking on the runway. The pilot quickly aborted the takeoff. Passengers were evacuated on the runway and are being bused back to the terminal. Fire crews were dispatched to the aircraft to extinguish the engine fire. A passenger on a FlyDubai flight heading to Israel from Dubai described the chaos aboard the plane when a co-pilot, according to Israeli officials, may have tried to crash the plane after stabbing the other pilot. "Suddenly the airplane dropped, massive turbulence for 20, 30 seconds, and then balanced, and then once again dropped for ten seconds, and balanced again, and then we saw that, in the front of the aircraft there was a riot," Almog Italie said. The pilot and his daughter were over Bird Rock when the engine started to give out. A witness on the beach said the pilot picked the "perfect spot" to land, according to NBC San Diego. No one was injured, according to fire officials. Pretty impressive.

Jet left the runway on landing at Mesquite, lost its undercarriage, and was destroyed in a fire. The aircraft was on a ferry flight, and it was not intended to land at Mesquite: the pilot was later arrested on suspicion of flying while drunk (later confirmed) (Below is an exact quote of the accident report: I can imagine that when this came out, the pilot was busy printing CVs) “After authorities arrived on site, the pilot was arrested for operating an aircraft under the influence of alcohol. The pilot was found to have a blood alcohol level of .288, which exceeded the FAA's allowable limit of .040.
