NEWS: Tesla's fleet has now driven 12 billion miles on Full Self-Driving The count passed 12 billion this week, just a month after hitting 11 billion on June 9. About 4.5 billion of those miles were on city streets. The pace is speeding up fast. The fleet now adds around 30 million miles a day, up from 14 million a day at the start of the year. Each new billion is arriving quicker than the last. Why this number matters. Elon Musk has said Tesla needs roughly 10 billion miles of real driving data to make self-driving safe enough to run unsupervised. The fleet is now well past that and the data trains the system to handle rare, tricky situations. Tesla's own safety report says cars on FSD have one major crash every 5.3 million miles, versus one every 660,000 for the average US driver. FSD is still a supervised system. On July 15, just 4 days after trumps mention they were awarded a $10.5 Billion contract with the U.S. Special Operations Command. Then two weeks later, another $1 Billion contract with the Space Force. Northrop Grumman was awarded 3 new contracts. In July 22nd they were awarded a $1.2 Billion contract with the Navy. A week later they were awarded a $1.84 Billion contract with the Air Force. I have chosen to drive my Tesla on FSD multiple times instead of flying. In the past year, I’ve done multiple ~20-hour days driving continuously on FSD, covering over 1,000 miles daily without ever needing to touch the steering wheel. We just took a trip from Toronto to Nashville as well. It was 900 miles one way, which we completed in a single day (18 hours), and it was way more economical (and fun) than flying. Before that, I did Toronto to Austin, TX (3,200 miles round trip) TWICE in July and November — all in my Model 3 Performance. Would I attempt these drives without FSD? No way. I literally push a button on the screen, and the car handles all the charging stops, traffic, navigation, and everything. It’s so easy. If you’re an avid road tripper, there’s no better car to do it in than a Tesla.

Just check out the main stats shared from Jay Leno's video. • It goes 500-miles for the long-range model, tested fully loaded and also has a a 325-mile standard-range option available - they both handle max payload • It does 1.2 MW charging, which recovers ~60% of the battery (~300 miles of range) in just 30 minutes during mandatory driver breaks • Has a drag coefficient of ~0.4, which is lower than a Bugatti Veyron bc of the bullet-shaped cab and radical center-driver seating (fyi this is a ~7% improvement over previous design) • The battery is engineered to last 1 million miles, has the same cells as the Cybertruck • It's 50% cheaper to operate in California and nearly 20% cheaper per mile nationwide, this includes everything like energy, maintenance, no oil changes • While Jay Leno was hauling 60-70,000 lbs GVW, he said “I don’t even feel like I’m pulling anything…” • The Tesla Semi fleet already logged >13.5 million miles total, with one truck approaching 440,000 miles with 95% uptime • It's ~1,000 lbs lighter overall + 2,000 lb EV weight exemption keeps it at full payload parity with diesel trucks • Regen braking is so strong it descends steep grades at highway speed with almost zero use of service brakes • The truck is proven in Alaska winters with heat pump and minimal range loss • It has a turning radius like a Model 3/Y despite being a full-size Class 8 truck • Tesla has a new dedicated factory near Giga Reno ramping high-volume production this year (tens of thousands annually) with strong customer demand already locked in If I were a business, the Tesla Semi is a no-brainer!

Today marks 21 straight days of our family’s West Coast road trip in the Cybertruck. So far we’ve driven 3,493 miles, and every mile has reminded me why I believe this is THE greatest road-trip vehicle ever built. Tesla FSD has handled all the driving, which means I get to spend more time playing & talking with my family, enjoying the scenery, and arriving at each destination feeling far less worn out than I ever did on road trips in the past in a non-Tesla. The Cybertruck has been an absolute beast. It’s comfortable, incredibly capable, has more than enough room for everything we’ve packed, and has taken us through cities, highways, mountains, and national parks without missing a beat. After 21 straight days on the road, it’s needed zero maintenance, just charging and going, like a phone. The combination of the Cybertruck, Tesla’s Supercharger network, and FSD completely changes what a road trip feels like. After 3,493 miles and 21 consecutive days behind the wheel, I can honestly say I’ve never experienced anything like it. A Tesla truly makes road trips multiple times more enjoyable… I can’t ever imagine driving anything else.
