Google involved ...

BTW, it's the same height as Schwarzenegger's Terminator (i.e., 6'2").

Prototypes are easy. Mass manufacturing at scale and affordably so people can actually buy them … is extremely difficult. Tesla will win the latter race.

Did you forget the Chinese?

I don’t like the CCP police state … so I don’t mention them. None of it is their achievements anyway. They just steal other people’s innovations and pass them off as their own with massive government subsidies. Nothing impressive or innovative about them. Just dirty thieves.

@IntuitMachine Same old ignorant narrative successfully pushed by d z10n15t-led mainstream media

@IntuitMachine I don’t watch mainstream media. I personally know someone who had their most basic human rights violated in China and was held prisoner there for 3 years…

@IntuitMachine He was sent over by his company to negotiate a deal regarding a plane lease. He committed no crimes and did nothing wrong.

@JT11967 @IntuitMachine Hahaha just assume your friend is honest with you on everything, you believe the U.S. hasn’t done the same??

@JT11967 @IntuitMachine It was a famous case. The Irish government had to get involved and fight for his release. Google Richard Hanley ..

double tap.

“Which way do you want it to move?” “Yes.”

If Hyundai (owner of Boston Dynamics) says it'll deploy these in manufacturing by 2028, then Tesla will also take a while to do the same.

Optimus doesn’t give me nightmares. •

If the success of a humanoid company would be defined by cool walking and some inhuman movements you would be right but it isn't. Firstly, an AI-controlled humanoid multi purpose robot success is defined by their AI capabilities, and so far Tesla is leading the way in this regard with physical AI e.g. FSD, as well as with its computing power, team, and real-world data volume. Secondly, a multifunctional humanoid robot must be able to do everything a human can do, so its hardware must be able to cover all degrees of freedom (DOF) of a human body, and if you look at the hands in the video, you know that Boston Dynamics is still light years away from this capability. The ability to perform movements that a human body cannot perform does not in any way help to compensate for the capabilities of a human body. There is much more like sustainability of hardware as well as mass manufacturing and costs BD is all but good in but time will tell. Many are confused and perhaps impressed by funny and strange movements like from BD in some show case videos, but that does not give you what you need to compensate for human labor.

Will the robot overlords believe this was tough love?

All sci-fi movie director like mad they didn’t think about this incredible efffect 😱😱

That looks extremely powerful inefficient. Having a servo to move your entire midsection around, when you still have to move the other direction anyways. If you only had the legs turn the body as it walks, you cut-out an entire spin movement. This is not an improvement. It’s a performance.

why turn head and not just have sensors on all sides?

nah they didn't have to give this thing that much swag in it's step

It moves too weird to fuck

It's good.. unitree is better

Can't wait to fight 1000 of these

imagine few years down the line we have most matured and meaningful e2e infra for open source robotics. the commodity and community is scaling the bar for themselves. life is going to change like anything. a man can dream.

the walk is so smooth

I am not a fan of the rotating head

Hyundai should consider doing an IPO for Boston Dynamics as a separate stock. HYMTF doesn't really trade OTC anymore, apparently.

Yes. What happened to that?!

What I can find via Google, HYMTF stock does trade on KRX. It also traded OTC on NYSE (ADR), but became defunct since July 2025. Reasons Hyundai management delisted HYMTF OTC was due to mediocre performance(?), maintenance costs, and to reduce management complexity...apparently.

It's a guy in a robot suit

Billionaires are like holy shit here's a slave with more features that we can exploit than the dumb humans we've been using

the improvement in dexterity is most impressive… will be interesting to see where robotics goes in next 5-7 years as they integrate into llms

@inversebrah I can't be the only one seeing this

It walks like a boss. 😀

a moment later

Impressive. Highly efficient.

@rabyaahahmed راسه بيشبه الشطافة

Extremely impressive. 👍

I think it will be very difficult to produce at scale. Maybe it’s a bit over engineered. It’s amazing tech though.

Hyundai has said they'll deploy it in their plants by 2028. That's a tell.

It’s an ambition. But it’s still a bit of a confidence marker. Interesting.

Appreciate this. Seoul Exchange is up 15% in a day. It believes in the push. OTC 89$ 🤔 OK something is genuinely happening.

Unfortunately can't trade it in US markets.

Put the antenna on his head, cute bunny ears for the win

@Tesla_Optimus throw hands

Very impressive. Can it empty my room, prepare it for painting, prepare the walls, paint them, remove the cover, and move everything back? Or at least one of the steps?

Yes. But it can't clean itself. The future is robot cleaning services.

as much as humans are optimised, i don't understand why we are going for humanoids. can't we build robots with tentacles and other features that humans don't have? wondering

A humanoid robot should move like a human. Its movement needs to be predictable or else it could be dangerous
