NEWS: After 10 years, Boston Dynamics has announced it is retiring its hydraulic humanoid robot, HD Atlas. They released a farewell video (below). It's unclear what the company might do next.

You know, the HUMANE thing to do would be to release the remaining Atlases into the wild. Just set up charging stations for them around Boston and let them live out their days in freedom.

Hyundai bought boston dynamics in 2020 to tackle the demographic crisis problems in South-Korea. They are not abandoning the project. What I suspect is that they have something better, more energy efficient, coming out.

This was going to happen. Too expensive and to much heuristics. Teslas approach will commercialize it for the masses. But end to end seems like it’s going everywhere, so teslas manufacturing expertise will need to shine.

You mean there isn't a lot of use case for a parkour robot?

Retiring it? What was the point then? Hopefully they use that technology in something awesome
